Chris Colfer discovered Glee axe on twitter

Chris Colfer found out he was leaving ‘Glee’ through twitter.

The actor – who plays Kurt Hummel in the TV musical comedy – claims he only learned he and co-stars Lea Michele and Cory Monteith wouldn’t be returning after the third series on the social networking site.

He said of the axing: “I found out yesterday on Twitter. Yeah, I found out that they made that announcement. I didn’t necessarily know that it was going to be our last season next year, I knew something like that was coming up eventually. I mean, we can’t be there forever. I don’t necessarily want to leave so soon, but I mean, it’s fine.”

Although he will be sad to go, Chris will look back on the show with great pride.

He said: “It’s what it is. And all things come to an end. As a performer, I feel so fulfilled. I have two Emmy nominations and just from hearing from people out in the world about how much the character has helped people. If it’s time for a conclusion, I’m fulfilled with it, and I’m fine with it.”

Speaking about the decision creator Ryan Murphy – who insisted more characters will leave than stay – said: “We made that decision and I involved Chris and Lea and they thought that was a good idea. They both trust the writing and trust me and felt that it would be great to have an open and closed experience for them to go out while they were on top.”

Cory wasn’t consulted about the decision, but Ryan explained: “He knows he was a sophomore when the show started.”

Daisy Lowe to pose naked for Playboy

Daisy Lowe is set to appear naked in Playboy.

The 22-year-old model – who has previously posed for fashion publications Vogue and W – will strip off in an eight-page spread in the September edition of the iconic men’s magazine, which is set to be released on August 12.

Daisy – who is currently dating ‘Doctor Who’ actor Matt Smith – will travel to editor Hugh Hefner’s famous Playboy Mansion for the photo shoot.

The beautiful brunette – who is the daughter of musician-turned-designer Pearl Lowe and Bush rocker Gavin Rossdale – previously posed topless for the 2010 Pirelli Calendar and admitted she found the sexy shoot liberating.

She said: “It was quite freeing, being able to be naked for a week.”

Daisy has previously explained being “sexy” is a “big part” of her identity, and she believes it is empowering for women to be in control of their sexuality.

She said: “I suppose I’ve been very in touch with the ‘sexy’ thing since I was 15.

“I guess it’s a big part of my identity, something that I have learnt to switch into. It’s because I’m a girl’s girl. I’m not the bitchy girl who’s trying to make your boyfriend fancy me. The only reason I ever ‘do’ sexy is because I like to encourage women to feel sexy about themselves.”

Kate Hudson names son Bingham Hawn

Kate Hudson has named her new son Bingham Hawn.

The actress and her rocker fiance Matt Bellamy welcomed their little boy into the world on Saturday (09.07.11) and while his moniker was initially kept under wraps, the Muse frontman has now announced it.

Writing on his twitter page, he said: “So happy! Just had a baby boy, Bingham ‘Bing’ Hawn Bellamy. Mum and baby are strong and healthy. Mum was a warrior, Bing popped out after 4.5 hours of intense pushing!”

While it is not known where they got the idea of Bingham from, it is thought the tot’s middle name pays homage to Kate’s mother Goldie Hawn.

Following his birth, the couple asked for “celebration trees” to be planted for their son, just as they did at Kate’s baby shower.

Matt and Kate – who has a seven-year-old son, Ryder, with ex-husband Chris Robinson – plan to spend the next few weeks at the rocker’s London home while Muse record a new album.

Funda From Made in Chelsea In Cosmetic Surgery Ad?

Frost isn’t entirely sure, but as we were flicking through our issue of Glamour magazine we saw a cosmetic surgery advert in the classifieds that looked suspiciously like Funda from Made in Chelsea. A women who looks exactly like her is holding up a sign saying;”I’ve just had my breasts done, but the biggest change you’ll see is on my face.” Hmm.

Ever since we noticed the advert had been in a lot more magazines, not just in the classifieds and in a bigger ad space. Coincidence? Let us know what you think.

Lea Michele to leave Glee

Lea Michele will leave ‘Glee’ at the end of the next season.

The actress will see her character Rachel Berry graduate from McKinley High at the end of the third series, along with Chris Colfer, Cory Monteith and other, as yet, unnamed cast members.

Creator Ryan Murphy – who insists more characters will leave than stay – told The Hollywood Reporter: “We made that decision and I involved Chris and Lea and they thought that was a good idea. They both trust the writing and trust me and felt that it would be great to have an open and closed experience for them to go out while they were on top.”

Cory wasn’t consulted about the decision, but Ryan explained: “He knows he was a sophomore when the show started.”

The scriptwriter insists several characters had to leave because they are supposed to be school students, and therefore they would graduate and go on to college or continue their lives.

Ryan explained: “You can keep them on the show for six years and people will criticise you for not being realistic or you can be really true to life and say when they started the show they were very clearly sophomores and they should graduate at the end of their senior year.”

While season three will be Lea’s final, Ryan promised she will still take centre stage.

He said: “I’m much more interested in Lea’s character – not so much on her relationship with Finn, but more on what her dreams are beyond high school and how she plans on getting them. That’s what my senior year was about.”

Ted Danson joins CSI

Ted Danson will replace Laurence Fishburne on ‘CSI: Crime Scene Investigation’.

The former ‘Cheers’ star will play the new supervisor for the Las Vegas based investigative team after Laurence left the show last month when his contract was not renewed due to falling ratings.

Carol Mendelsohn, executive producer of the show, said: “You can create a new character on the page, but until the perfect actor comes along and breathes life into it, it’s just words. We’re very excited Ted Danson came along.”

Executive producer Don McGill added: “From the moment we all started talking about the role, it was clear he couldn’t be more perfect. Intelligence, wit, warmth, depth of character and emotion, he brings it all. And now he’ll have to bring latex gloves, too.”

It has been reported that both Robin Williams and John Lithgow were offered the role before 63-year-old Ted accepted.

‘CSI’ will begin its 12th season in America on September 21.

Laurence – who played Dr. Raymond Langston – joined the programme two years ago to fill the void left by William Petersen, after he quit his role as Gil Grissom.

News Corp Withdraw BSkyB Bid

News Corporation have withdrawn their BSkyB bid amid the ‘Hackgate’ scandal.

The move follows further claims as the fallout into phone hacking continues. With news stories about the now defunct News of the World getting worse by the day and spreading to the other Murdoch papers, the media mogul now faces fresh accusations. It would seem News Corp has forgotten the first rule of journalism: Never become the story.

People on the News of the World payroll are said to have illegally accessed Gordon Brown’s son’s medical records and, after hacking Milly Dowler’s voicemail, deleted the messages when her mailbox was full – a move that made her family, and police, believe she was still alive.

News Corporation own 39% of BSkyB and announced last year that it intended to buy the remaining 61%.

Chase Carey, Deputy Chairman, President and Chief Operating Officer of News Corporation, commented: “We believed that the proposed acquisition of BSkyB by News Corporation would benefit both companies but it has become clear that it is too difficult to progress in this climate. News Corporation remains a committed long-term shareholder in BSkyB. We are proud of the success it has achieved and our contribution to it.”

BSKYB chief executive Jeremy Daroch added: “We are delivering on our clear, consistent strategy and are building a larger, more profitable business for the long term. We remain very confident in the broadly based growth opportunity for BSkyB as we continue to add new customers, sell more products, develop our leading position in content and innovation, and expand the contribution from our other businesses.”

The announcement comes as online petitions against News Corporation increase. Actor Hugh Grant got the ball rolling when he wore a wire and in a case of ‘the biter, bit’, taped a former News of the World journalist confessing that their paper “bugged everyone.” The piece was for an edition of the New Statesman which was being guest edited by his ex-girlfriend Jemima Khan.

Lady Gaga Wants To Make Dad Proud

Lady Gaga wants her dad to be proud of her music more than she wants worldwide adulation.

The ‘Edge of Glory’ singer – whose latest album ‘Born This Way’ has gone to number one in over 20 countries – insists one of the biggest motivations for her music is her father Joseph Germanotta and it is his support which drives her on to succeed.

Gaga said: “As much as I want the world to be happy, at the end of the day I just want my dad to be proud of me.”

The pop superstar also spoke of her family’s reaction to her rise to fame and various eccentric fashion choices – which have included a dress made out of meat and a Kermit the frog coat.

In an interview on Japanese TV talk show Tetsuko no Heya, she said: “They were sometimes worried, sometimes confused. But with all things, with all adversity it takes time. I was very patient with them and they were very patient with me.

“Now the most wonderful thing about my family is that we are rock solid.”

The 25-year-old singer – who appeared on the programme clad in a circular dress and sky-high heels – is also inspired by her millions of fans.

She explained: “As an artist I’m always trying to project to my fans and the world that the public does not define you who you are. You define you.”
