Elizabeth Hurley, Van Morrison join other celebs for Cheltenham Fashion Week finale

Cheltenham Fashion Week has welcomed high flyers, glitterati and celebrities to Cowley Manor VIP event ‘For One Night Only’.

Celebrity names such as actress and Hop, Skip and Jump President Elizabeth Hurley, singer
Van Morrisson, actress Lisa Maxwell, cricketer Shane Warne, designer Selina Blow and
Embarrassing Bodies’ Dawn Harper are just some of the high profile attendees that headed
down the red carpet of the glamorous event and watched a high fashion runway show.

Speaking ahead of the event Elizabeth Hurley, who is attending in her capacity of President of Hop, Skip and Jump, said: “The Cheltenham Fashion Week One Night Only event is being held in aid of Hop, Skip and Jump. This is a charity that gives a unique and vital service to the many families who have children with additional needs so it is absolutely right that we should be together gathering support for them during this special week for Cheltenham. Until I met up with Hop, Skip and Jump I had not realised the enormous need for a place which gives flexible day respite to the many families who have children and young adults with additional needs. The change in people’s lives through this unique provision is truly remarkable.”

On arrival at the luxury boutique hotel guests were greeted with a Champagne reception, followed by a sumptuous three course supper and wine. Guests also received a VIP goodie bag filled with lavish treats.

The event was a complete sell-out. The A-list event treated guests to an evening of fine dining, music and glamorous fashion showcasing new and established couture designers from all over the UK.

Winning pieces from the earlier Student Shows also featured alongside the Couture Show.

Craig Lawrence | London Fashion Week 2012

British knitwear designer Craig Lawrence underwater themed SS13 show was a particular highlight of London Fashion Week. The clothes were metallic with a lot of different textures. Lawrence said that he ‘craved purity’ after his last colourful show and this entire collection was silver or white. Lawrence used kyototex metallic yarn and techno fibres, and as the camera’s flashed the clothes glowed. Absolutely beautiful.

Heretics launches with bold provocative collection

Few things in life beat a cool T-shirt and Heretics, created by London based designer Tom Wells, are bold and provocative. They are being worn by not only men but also women as ‘boyfriend’ style tee’s.

Female icons Daisy Lowe and Lana Del Ray have been great ambassadors of the brand some of the tee’s (skulls and astronaut prints) are penned by celebrated artist, Alex Konahin.

New menswear brand, Heretics, launches its debut collection of striking and distinctive printed T-shirts aimed at fashion-conscious men. With T-shirt weather fast approaching and trend forecasts looking bright, it is the perfect time for Heretics to introduce its first range, its flashes of colour, intricate detailing and sometimes risqué images complimenting current moods perfectly. Priced reasonably between £25-£30 per t-shirt the Heretics brand is already stirring an interest amongst other discerning gentlemen, its success stamped as inevitable.

By definition, Heretics refers to anyone who does not conform to an established attitude, doctrine, or principle. In a time where people are celebrating individuality and embracing boldness (Adele’s flicking of the finger at the Brits recently, for example), the idea of expressing oneself is paralleled throughout the Heretics line. Controversial, sexualised images of women are the feature of some of the pieces, one of which focuses on a woman holding a diamond-encrusted gun to her head with the words, ‘It’s All About Me’ below. Patriots will appreciate that the range is made in the UK in London in a bid to keep the company local; something which few brands can claim.

Some t-shirts in the collection feature urbane-detailed artwork by “Biro Man”, an artist who spent over a month creating pieces used in the range with, as the nickname suggests, a biro pen. A closer look at the Mexican skull design reveals the meticulous nature of his artwork with all of the artist’s precise detailing in all its glory. Other pieces in the collection are embellished with vividly intense hues. Flashes of colour used in the “Lust” and “Imagine” pieces are particularly striking and is a modern take on artist of the 60s and champion of the famous pop art movement, Andy Warhol.

Lanvin to Design for H&M {Fashion}

H&M have announced their next designer collaboration and the rumors were true…its next designer collaboration will be with Lanvin, one of the most influential brands of the 21st century. Designed by Lanvin’s artistic director Alber Elbaz, and menswear designer Lucas Ossendrijver, the collection will go on sale on November 23 in around 200 H&M stores worldwide. The collection of both womenswear and menswear will be revealed to the world on November 2, just three weeks before the clothes hit the store.

Alber Elbaz, artistic director of Lanvin says:
“H&M approached us to collaborate, and see if we could translate the dream we created at Lanvin to a wider audience, not just a dress for less. I have said in the past that I would never do a mass-market collection, but what intrigued me was the idea of H&M going luxury rather than Lanvin going public. This has been an exceptional exercise, where two companies at opposite poles can work together because we share the same philosophy of bringing joy and beauty to men and women around the world.” .

Since joining Lanvin as artistic director in 2001, Alber Elbaz has transformed the Paris-based label, founded in 1889 by Jeanne Lanvin, into a fashion powerhouse bursting with ideas and creativity. Alber Elbaz has pioneered there some of the biggest trends of the past decade – ribbon, bows, pearls, raw edges, sumptuous colour and metallic embellishment among many others. Alber Elbaz has a mastery of cut and an instinct for cloth which leaves a very personal signature on his work, ensuring that all Lanvin clothes are instantly recognizable. Since the introduction of a new menswear line in 2006, Alber Elbaz has also transformed the male wardrobe, bringing a relaxed elegance to men’s clothing which is as special as the womenswear.

“We are thrilled about Lanvin’s collection for H&M, it is such an exciting moment. Lanvin will bring to H&M a luxurious French tradition that is also modern and playful. It is very much a Lanvin collection, using their cut and tailoring, with lots of focus on form and details for both women and men. Lanvin is the latest brand to collaborate with H&M, with previous collections designed by the likes of Karl Lagerfeld, Stella McCartney, Comme des Garçons and Sonia Rykiel. In a new twist, the Lanvin for H&M collection will be revealed to the world through a special film which will be launched on November 2. The film will be available for all to see online at www.hm.com. Following the film’s debut, it will be just three weeks before customers have the chance to get their hands on a covetable piece of Lanvin for H&M.
