Chi Chi London – Anisha

The sun is out and when that happens its time for strapless little numbers. Weekends aren’t about throwing on those jeans and an old T shirt, but to dress in beautiful clothing. Keep the casual items for rainy, sad looking days when all you want to do is hide away from the entire world. When the sun is drenching us in its sparkles I say a girl needs to dress accordingly. I love nothing more than putting on my heels, a cute dress and head out for cocktails. To while away a few hours people watching or wandering around London grabbing the odd coffee here and there. On this particular day we decided to head towards Holborn. It holds many memories for us as this was the place where we lived when I upped sticks and moved in to London to be with him. Almost 15 years ago. Time has flown by but it still is as beautiful at the weekend as I remember. Its very quiet and chiled unlike the West end. We shot this Chi Chi London – Anisha dress needing a beautiful city backdrop. I think it does it justice don’t you think!

Chi Chi London – Anisha Outfit Details

Zara heels (old) Russell & Bromley bag, J Crew necklace, Apple Watch, Shellac Nails in Dark Lava & Dress (co) Chi Chi London

I styled this outfit with a vivid bag to make the blue and white tones in the dress come alive. Id delightfully swishy and extremely flattering. Perfect for pear shaped girls, as it will show off those tiny waists. Its also great if like me your a little straight up and down. It creates curves in all the right places. If you are a little self conscious about those arms ladies add a wrap or contrasting cropped cardigan. This dress would look amazing worn with heels or even flip-flops. Perfect for Summer afternoons spent sipping tea on the terrace too.

Top Ten eBay Tips

As you all will know I’m a fashion and style loving lass. When I need to save a few pennies for beauty products or a new camera my go to place is eBay. You can literally find a real hidden gem every day of you know how to search properly. Most of my friends call me the eBay Queen.

I will share with you my top ten eBay tips so you too can look stylish on a measly budget. Whether you missed out on that perfect little summer dress that sold out in a flash or just a tasty bargain waiting to be snapped up. These tips will help you look stylish and turn heads. Enable you to be a little individual but most importantly save you a packet!

Top 10 eBay Tips-5 Top 10 eBay Tips-5

1. Get the app on your smart phone. This way you will be able to look for things 24/7 if you so please.
2. Search for specific things or things that pop into your head. Or items you might have missed out on even years gone by. Like “Wit & Wisdom pink dress” I did this for a few months after longing to find one I didn’t purchase 15 years ago and it popped up for £3.50!
3. Be prepared to wait….ref to No2!
4. Haggle and contact sellers to see if they will take items out of auction. You might be surprised how many just want to get rid of unwanted items.
5. Set a budget each month and stick to it.
6. Watch items all the time as your iPhone or smartphone will let you know when they are coming to an end.
7. Refine settings, like price. Type in max price £1.00. Free postage or distance to you.
8. This brings me to the next tip, avoid overseas sellers that use descriptions like “May look different to image due to lighting” as you won’t end up with what you see!
9. This next tip is one my buddy Claire told me…Type in wrongly spelt terms like “Soze 8” as you will be amazed at how many items are listed spelt incorrectly!
10. Have fun with it. But don’t get too carried away!

I hope these little tips help you get a budget wardrobe just like mine!

Slumbersac Sleeping Bags For Babies Review

slumbersacThere are a number of reasons a baby will wake you up at night: hunger, a wet or dirty nappy, boredom. Thankfully with the invention of baby sleeping bags your baby kicking of their sheets and waking you up because they are cold is a thing of the past. Our first thought when we first opened the Slumbersac packaging was how big it seemed. It has buttons at the side for the arms to make sure your little one is securely in. There is also a zip that goes down the side and along the bottom. There are buttons that fasten at the top, making it easy to put baby in. The Slumbersac is easy to use and the fabric feels nice and soft. Made with 100% cotton and lined with 100% pure cotton, they are rigorously tested and can be both machine-washed and tumble-dried. The design is cute and baby likes it. We were sent the green owl one to review and we love the design.

Slumbersac has a good choice of sleeping bags that caters for a wide range of ages from newborn right up to 10 years old. There is a great choice of designs to choose from featuring beautiful embroidery, appliqués and prints to suit both boys and girls. They are priced from £9

Benefits of a Slumbersac sleeping bag

• Safe: We all want to make sure our children are as safe as possible, and a Slumbersac sleeping bag can really help. Conventional bedding can ride up and cover a baby’s face, causing breathing difficulties. In a Slumbersac bag, your baby can wriggle about as much as he likes without accidentally covering his head, which greatly reduces the risk of suffocation. Just as importantly, with a sleeping bag it’s much easier to make sure your baby is at the right temperature, not too cold and not too warm. This is significant because overheating is one of the risk factors implicated in sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS).

• Convenient: With a Slumbersac bag, getting baby to bed is easy – just put them in the bag for a cuddle and then put them down in their cot or moses basket! The familiarity of their sleeping bag acts as a signal that it’s sleep time, which helps them to settle more quickly, and the warm and cosy bag will help them to drift off with minimal fuss. Plus, night-time nappy changes are made easy with the all-round zip.

• Comfortable: Slumbersac sleeping bags are made from 100% cotton with a soft and quick-dry fleece filling for maximum comfort and ideal for sensitive skin, so your baby will always be safe and snuggly. And because there are no covers for baby to get tangled up in, they are much more likely to sleep well – and so are you!

• Ideal Temperature: Baby Sleeping bags keep your child at a constant temperature during the night, which is safer and results in better sleep.

• Familiar comfort: Baby sleeping bags are ideal when traveling, on holiday or sleepovers as babies feel more at home in their sleeping bag. Your child is naturally more unsettled when traveling. The familiarity of their sleeping bag will help them settle in new and unfamiliar surroundings. Slumbersac’s specially designed travel sleeping bags can be used in car seats and buggies where your baby can be securely buckled into any seatbelt.

• Value: Slumbersac’s aim is to deliver quality, comfort and safety at a price you won’t find anywhere else! Slumbersac aim to offer their customers second to none customer service and receive impeccable feedback.

• Choice: Slumbersac offers a range of innovative products to compliment their sleeping bags, from sleeping bags with feet to bedding and comforters. They offer a wide choice of designs to suit all needs from birth to 10 years.

• Easy care: Slumbersac sleeping bags can be machine washed and tumble dried.

The Magical Mermaid Shop And Gallery By Wendy Breckon

The Magical Mermaid Shop And Gallery By Wendy Breckon mermaidsign1

Some of the best places to visit are often just round the corner. If you take a few skips away from the sea in Lyme Regis, you will encounter a world of inspiration and wonder at the Mermaid Shop in Church Street. Take a partner or friend, a small child or two and enjoy the magical experience where the imagination can tumble and twist and creativity will flow. Here, you can almost hear the waves crashing, the circling sea gulls and the taste of salt in the air. This is one of my favourite places and always has been.

The Magical Mermaid Shop And Gallery By Wendy Breckon linzi

Linzi West the delightful owner is a very talented portrait painter. On the walls of her studio is a collection of the young and old and those in the middle, in various poses. On the table near her easel is a superb collection of sketch books, some quite tiny, that Linzi carries to visually record journeys and travels. Here inside, are sketches of figures and faces and interesting places (as a writer with many notebooks crammed full of my ideas, I was quite enthralled).

Linzi, who originally trained in Richmond, has been motivated and inspired by peoples’ faces from a young age. She captures the essence of character perfectly and enjoys how a face tells a story, their story, always from life.

The Magical Mermaid Shop And Gallery By Wendy Breckonportrait5

A love of sketching and life drawing has always held a fascination.  Linzi creates her art in oils, charcoal and water colours, whichever is most appropriate. She describes the experience perfectly, as being one of the journey from the heart to the hand, which all creative people will appreciate.

Linzi feels the younger age group can be captured superbly onto a small canvas. Her portraits of children (6 x 6 inches) are very popular and the little ones only need to sit for an hour.

The Magical Mermaid Shop And Gallery By Wendy Breckonceramics6

A visit to Lyme Regis for a holiday many years ago, gave Linzi the idea that this would be the perfect place to raise a family. Having lived originally in Windsor, the move to the seaside resulted in the opening of The Mermaid Shop, something she always wanted to do. Inside the window, her beautiful hand painted ceramics, lino cuts, prints, paintings and plates in their dazzling seaside colours nestle closely to each other. Here, the hearty sea captains, quirky fish and charming mermaids gaze out on all who walk by. Alongside these are exquisite cards and a selection of children’s books with her bold and cheerful illustrations inside.

If The Mermaid Shop is closed, feel welcome to telephone or even knock if you have an enquiry. You can also visit her website at www.mermaid-at-the-tudor.com or www.linziwest.co.uk

There are many charming and inspirational shops around the Jurassic coast, but this has got to be one of the best. If you get the chance, move away from the hubbub of Lyme, turn that corner, pay a visit, stay a while…

Now, did I use the word magical?

The Eva Cammarata Collection … Kniterbocker Glory

VIS_1211

It’s the antithesis of slink – the antidote to slick: Eva Cammarata is embracing the handknit with the passion of a newlywed and creating sweaters, knickerbockers and skirts with extreme dimensions, show-off stitches and wild decorative techniques.

‘Rustic chic’ describes Eva’s latest knit-filled collection which was showcased at the Fashions Finest show during London Fashion Week, looking like it’s made during relaxing moments at home… but ‘moment’ is hardly a description of the reality of the manufacturing technique with each garment representing hours of endeavour.

The painstakingly made pieces reveal Eva’s love for sustainability and creativity through the medium of natural fabrics and techniques.

Wild and woolly pieces, ideal for throwing on in the early hours at a devilishly louche party.

Eva Cammarata is an ethical luxury label that believes in fashion that makes you  “look beautiful, feeling great”, using organic and biotech fibres that moisturize the skin of the wearer.

Impeccable quality is strictly associated with sustainability through the entire manufacturing process, producing in UK and Italy, dedicating great attention to environment and fair trade.

Eva’s take on sustainability…

Viscose, Wood and Wood yarn

We make sure to give back to nature what we borrow, for every piece make we plant a tree, simple.

Leather

We love animals… but we do use leather and other animal fibres such as silk and wool. We use real leather only for our limited edition garments made from beautiful remnants locally sourced. We believe is better to substitute leather with Wood or Alcantara.

Alcantara

100% Carbon Neutral a beautiful and eco-friendly alternative to leather. Made in Italy

Wool

Locally sourced merino (England)

Acrylic

Not a natural yarn but good news for the sheep, an animal friendly option for colder weather

Milk

We use milk fabrics that feel like silk on your skin and proven to anti bacterial and anti allergic. The milk yarns we use are recycled and produced in Italy.

Silk

We source all our silks from Italy.

Bamboo silk and yarns

We often prefer to use recycled bamboo silk and cotton, animal and environmental friendly.

Cotton

Most of the cotton we use is organic but often the range of colours or yarns is limited so we also use cotton from certified origin.

Monocel

Is a great substitute to cotton made from regenerated bamboo and treated with organic solvents therefore totally free from chemicals. Strong like cotton and soft like silk, makes beautiful jersey. Made in Norway

Lurex Lace
