Mother-of-Three Proudly Displays Her Stretch Marks in Viral Picture

In an empowering move, lifestyle blogger Rachel Hollis posted a picture of herself wearing a bikini in an uplifting photo post on her Facebook page.. She was tired of worrying about the stretchmarks left on her body after three pregnancies with ‘huge’ babies. The picture soon went viral.

Looking amazing and with a wide, beautiful, smile the photo of Hollis has been liked over 465,000 times and shared over 62,000 times. Many other mothers are posting pictures of their own mummy tummies below. The photo, along with the inspiring statement has gathered a lot of support from other women. This is what Hollis said:

“I wear a bikini because I’m proud of this body and every mark on it…It’s never ever going to be like a Victoria’s Secret model, but I think I look good and my husband wants to make out with me, so I’m doing something right.”

I have stretch marks and I wear a bikini. I have a belly that’s permanently flabby from carrying three giant babies and I wear a bikini. My belly button is saggy… (which is something I didn’t even know was possible before!!) and I wear a bikini. I wear a bikini because I’m proud of this body and every mark on it. Those marks prove that I was blessed enough to carry my babies and that flabby tummy means I worked hard to lose what weight I could. I wear a bikini because the only man who’s opinion matters knows what I went through to look this way. That same man says he’s never seen anything sexier than my body, marks and all. They aren’t scars ladies, they’re stripes and you’ve earned them. Flaunt that body with pride! ‪#‎HollisHoliday‬

Get Bikini Ready With Simple Steps from Fitness First

yogaWith only weeks to go until bikini season, Fitness First have come up with a set of
simple but effective tips to help you step from the beach hut with confidence.
Fitness First Health & Fitness Expert, Paul Cheeseman’s 30 minute circuit workout is a
great way to combine cardio and weight training together so you can burn fat and
tone up at the same time as well as increase endurance and stamina. Combine this
with a positive mindset, and you’ll see a real difference on those legs, bums and tums!

Squat Jump

The squat jump will give your leg muscles a workout and get your heart pumping. Stand with
your feet roughly shoulder-width apart, then slowly bend your legs and arms to about 90
degrees at the same time. Once your thighs are parallel to the floor, explode into the air as
high as you can go. Land softly and repeat the motion again. Perform eight to 10 repetitions, or
20 to 25 seconds for a timed circuit. Modify the reps or time to suit your fitness level if the
workout seems too difficult or not difficult enough.

Jump Rope

Rope jumping is a staple of training systems such as boxing and martial arts. Jumping rope will
enhance your footwork, coordination and balance. Find a rope that just clears your head by a
few inches on each revolution. Practice different footwork combinations as you become more
comfortable. Jump rope for about 30 seconds as part of a beginner circuit routine. Increase
the time and intensity of the jumping as your fitness level progresses.

Burpees

A burpee is a standard gym class type of movement that will work your entire body. Start in a
standing position and bend down to place your hands on the floor. Shoot both of your legs
backward into a push-up position, then bring them back to your chest quickly. Stand up and
repeat the movement for eight to 10 repetitions. For a timed circuit, try for 20 to 25 seconds of
continuous burpees. Modify the reps or time to suit your fitness level.

Push-Ups

The basic push-up is an exercise that will strengthen your triceps, shoulders and chest. Including
push-ups in your circuit training routine will help to give a complete body workout. Do eight to
10 push-ups to start, then increase as your level of fitness increases. Perform push-ups for 10 to
20 seconds as part of a timed routine.

Lunges

Lunges will strengthen and tone your thighs and buttocks. You can either step out into a lunge
position then return to the start and repeat, or alternate legs in a continuous walking motion
across the floor. Lunges can be performed with no added weight or with a dumbbell in each
hand for more of a challenge. Start with eight to 10 reps or 20 to 25 seconds and modify the
resistance or reps according to your fitness level.

V-Ups

The V-up can be a challenging exercise for people with weaker abdominal muscles. Lie on
your back and extend your arms up over your head. Raise your upper and lower body at the
same time, keeping your arms and legs straight to form a “V.” Lower yourself slowly and repeat.
Aim for eight to 10 repetitions or 20 seconds, but don’t push yourself too hard because the V-up
is a difficult exercise

Slim shark or curvy mermaid? Dressing for your shape on the beach By Lizzy Pudner

Slim shark or curvy mermaid? Dressing for your shape on the beach

By Lizzy Pudner, Marketing Director at StarBlu luxury resort wear

Whether it’s in Cornwall or California lots of us will be seeking out sunny beach destinations this year. But revealing a body that’s been hidden away from the sun’s rays for months is a pretty daunting prospect even for the most honed and toned women. The good news is that you don’t have to resemble a tanned Swimsuit Illustrated model to look beautiful, or most importantly to feel confident on the beach.

To start with, get familiar with your basic body shape and then think about which bits you want to flaunt and which you’d rather cover up.

We all fit roughly into these categories – sporty or ‘shark’ (think Kate Hudson’s boyish and lean shape), hourglass, the mermaid in beach fashion terms (a curvy Kim Kardashian type), or more pear-shaped, ‘the shrimp’, smaller up top but with a rounded bottom (like Rihanna). The good news is there’s a bikini or swimsuit to suit every shape.

If you’re a slim shark…

Sporty, athletic shapes or ‘lean columns’ as they are sometimes known, can wear most things but need to create curves and accentuate the bust, so a horizontal print bikini with stripes or colourful detailing works best. Bikinis that have padding in the bust are a must to create a softer, more feminine shape (which is flattering in photos too).

When you want a bit more cover or dignity, a feminine, floaty maxi dress softens the lean look. Equally, the new big thing in resort wear for 2012, the beach jumpsuit softens those angular lines by pulling in at the waist but giving added volume at the bust.

If you’re a shrimp…

A pear-shaped or triangular body shape should accentuate the top half of the body, so chose swimwear that emphasizes the bust and minimizes the bottom and hips. Anything bold or patterned on the top is good, which is handy as this season is all about strong colours and striking patterns. A colourful tankini will also draw the eye to the top half. Team our swimwear with a cover-up like our Tuscany kaftan which with its structured A-line cut is perfect to hide the less than perfect bits!

If you’re a mermaid…

Neat hourglass figures are the most balanced of the body shapes.

Mermaids tend to have great waists so show them off in bikinis. If you’re big up top, a halterneck bikini is good for hoisting you up and giving support and definition to the bust.

Mad Men style structured all in one swimming costumes also look very sexy on an hourglass shape.

And when the sun goes down try a becoming, low cut maxi dress that goes in at the waist but shows off a great bust.
