I never leave the house without an SPF. Even in winter. I think it has made a difference to my skin. So much of ageing comes from sun damage. I like Olay and tend to use it a lot. Finding a moisturiser with SPF30 can be hard, and a good one harder. I was sent the Olay Luminous Whip to review. I like the packaging but it is what is in the inside that counts. What I find is a product that moisturisers like a heavy moisturiser but has the light and airy feeling of a lighter counterpart. It feels soothing and calming as it goes on. My skin feels like it has had a good, long drink. My skin looks well moisturised too. I will definitely keep using the Olay Whips SPF30 range. It gives an excellent light finish with high SPF protection. It also absorbs instantly. My skin does not feel like it is suffocating. Brilliant stuff.

I really like this eye gel. It is deeply hydrating, just like the name says. A tiny amount goes a long way. My skin can feel really dry and this seems to last for a long time. I would continue to use this.

I take them on individual merit and have always thought a good eye cream is a worthwhile investment. The eye area is delicate and most face creams say to avoid the delicate eye area. It can also be used as a lightweight moisturiser so is perfect for travel.

But what ingredients are in it, and is it any good? I have been using the eye cream for a while now and I do think it is good. I am a working mother so if I don’t use a good product on my face I get dark circles. This is a lightweight eye cream that is keeping everything intact. It is pricey at £45, but it is the best eye cream I have used.

Here is what I think of the products. 

The Daily Protection Moisturiser has a high UV protection factor. Something that is essential to me. It defends against environmental aggressions known to cause skin colouration and premature ageing. It has vitamin E in it, which is always a good thing. The moisturiser has a tint to it which I love. Sometimes when I put it on it looked chalky initially and did not feel like it was giving my skin enough moisture. But it settles on well and I have been using it all winter. It does not say which- if any- SPF it is, but apart from that I can’t fault it. I do think it has had a good effect on my skin. I would recommend it.

 

The Ultra Nourishing Moisturiser has a lightness to it and it really sinks into the skin and moisturises. It feels refreshing and makes my skin feel instantly hydrated. It is perfect for sensitive skin as it gave my skin a feeling of calm. Good stuff. I would use it again.

I am a fan of La Roche-Posay. I always find their products are good to my skin. The Toleriane Ultra Overnight is for sensitive skin, combining powerful antioxidant with soothing active ingredients. I have been using this for a few months now and I am a huge fan. It is lightweight on skin and sinks in well. It really hydrates and soothes. It has made a difference to my skin, making it less dry and healthier. It is very soothing and I notice a difference in my skin if I forget to apply it. I would definitely buy this. It is a great product and the price is reasonable. I also love the packaging, which is air-tight to protect it. Great stuff.

Facial cleansing brushes are huge right now and show no sign of waning. The fact is, they really do work. But not all facial cleansers are good and do women really need yet another beauty burden to add to their routine? Well, yes. As long as it works and it not too time-consuming. This makes the Luna 2 and Luna 2 Mini perfect. Both only require an extra two minutes to your routine. Easy to fit in but does it work?

The Luna easily charges via USB. I plug it into my computer and the light starts flashing. When it is fully charged the light remains steady. I start with the mini. The brush feels so soft and lovely. I cannot stop stroking it. The device itself is beautiful. The Luna 2 and Luna 2 Mini come in different colours and each colour is for a different skin type. The pink is for normal skin. Now, did it make a difference to my skin? It is an outstanding yes. Luna says it ‘removes 99.5% of dirt and oil (based on clinical trials) plus makeup residue. Dead skin cells are also cleared away, enhancing the absorption of skincare products and also diminishing the appearance of pores to refine skin texture.’ After using the mini just once I am impressed. One side takes a minute to cleanse and the other is for anti-ageing. The brush leaves skin visibly cleaner and smoother. On-going use really does make a difference to skin. A lot of beauty bloggers have fallen in love with the Luna and it is easy to see why. The Luna 2 and Luna 2 Mini really works. The Luna 2 is bigger and some prefer it because they find it quicker and more thorough. The Luna 2 Mini however sure gives you bang for your buck. It is cute as hell and really does the job. All while taking up a small amount of space.

Here is our verdict:

“The texture of the foundation feels nice. It is a gel and smooths on well. Since being sent the foundation to review my skin has had its first breakout in years. I am not sure what set my skin off, but the foundation does cover any redness and also smooths out open pores. The colour I review is nude but my skin is pale and it is too dark. The colour is also a bit too beige for my white skin. I have this problem a lot with foundation so I cannot blame Vichy, I have just spent my life wearing high SPF and keeping out of the sun.

Despite the issue with the colour, it does cover well. Smoothing out the complexion, covering spots and eliminating redness. It does this without being too heavy. It looks like skin instead of makeup. You also only need to use a little for good coverage. A fine layer will do all you need and it leaves skin looking fresh. It is available in five shades so I would go with the next colour down. It still leaves my skin looking clear, even and a little tan. It also has an SPF 25 which I consider essential in products (note: pale skin!) Recommended.”
