Nudea, Fit-Focused Lingerie Rebellion

Newly launched Nudeawww.nudea.com is a new fit-centric intimates brand offering expertly crafted, comfortable lingerie that fits without compromising on a feminine aesthetic. ‘Nudea’, meaning new goddess, is fuelled by an obsession with fit and inclusivity and embraces the cultural shift away from overtly sexy lingerie to a more modern, body-positive attitude. Appealing to modern-minded women, Nudea offers a wide size range, neutral, contemporary colour palettes and hero styles designed and created for real women with real bodies.

I have tried a pair of their knickers and they are great. They also have a revolutionary tape measure for finding out your real bra size. I find people, even professionals, tend to get it wrong and then you are left wearing an uncomfortable bra which causes welts and pain. See the tape measure here.

New Research Reveals Almost 50% of British Women Haven’t Been Measured

For A Bra In Over 5 Years

October 2019 – launching this month, Nudea, www.nudea.com, is a new fit-centric intimates brand offering expertly crafted, comfortable lingerie that fits without compromising on a feminine aesthetic.

Nudea has conducted extensive research of over 600 British women in a pioneering size and fit research and development process. Highlights of this in-depth research reveal:

  • Two-thirds of women reported having had a body change (weight loss or gain, pregnancy or surgery) in the previous 6 months, yet less than 20% had been measured for a bra in the past year despite these changes having a direct effect on their bra size.
  • Almost 50% of women surveyed hadn’t been measured for a bra for over 5 years.
  • Only 8% of women claimed to have no issue with their bra, which means that 92% see room for improvement.
  • Only 10% of women measured themselves to the correct size vs. a professional bra fitter. 11% were just one size out but a massive 79% of women were wearing both the wrong band and cup size.
  • Nudea’s research workshops also revealed that younger shoppers want more modern choices for getting fitted, finding the idea of stripping down in front of a Bra Fitter in a department store old-fashioned and unappealing.
  • The UK average bra size is 36DD; Nudea’s research sample found 34DD was the most popular size and the 34 and 36 the most popular band sizes.

Nudea CEO and Co-Founder, Priya Downes, comments: We’re obsessed with fit. For the past two years, we have researched more than 600 amazing women to understand the biggest issues they face when getting fitted, choosing and purchasing a bra. Using this data, we have dissected, re-engineered, fit-tested and wear-tested the 20+ components that make up even the most basic of bras, all with fit and comfort in mind

We want women to find their fit, no matter their shape or size. By giving women the tools to achieve comfort and style via an online fit quiz, fit parties and Nudea’s bespoke tape measure, women needn’t dread the stuffy, poorly lit fitting room experience any longer.

Nudea Creative Director and Co-Founder, Sophie Morgenthaler, adds:Nudea’s mission is simple: to create beautifully crafted, functional underwear that not only fits and looks better, but can be worn throughout the day without compromising on comfort. We really are rebelling against badly fitted lingerie. By marrying the best new high-performance technology fabrics, lightweight hardware and bonding techniques with a design-led aesthetic, we are delivering smooth, invisible and lightweight finishes across Nudea’s debut collections.”

Cake Lingerie Collections Review | World Breastfeeding Week

1st August 2017 –  7th August 2017 is World Breastfeeding Week. Cake Maternity are giving their full support and so is Frost Magazine. Cake Maternity’s ranges include maternity and nursing day bras, sleep bras, sports bras, yoga bras, plus size bras, wire free bras and an array of breast feeding accessories including organic breast feeding pads. With 35 styles, 30-42 bands, S-XL, A-M Cups, they have got you covered.

We reviewed two of their maternity bras.

First up was the Maple Mousse Bra. A lot of maternity bras are not sexy or beautiful. But every now and then a woman wants to feel sexy and beautiful. The Maple Mousse Bra is just that. It looks beautiful but the fabric also feels luxurious. You can tell it is good quality. It has great detail- the pom poms and the polka dots- and the back has three clasps which makes it more supportive and secure. The clips to give access to the breast are secure and you don’t feel they will accidentally pop open. Something that has happened to me with other maternity bras. I was hugely impressed with this bra. It ticks all of the right boxes for comfort, functionality and beauty. I am very impressed indeed.
Next up was the Blue Lotus Bra. Sports bras are generally not recommended when breastfeeding, but this is a maternity sports bra. It is for low impact exercise and does not compress the breast tissue. It looks great and I love the style. I worried initially that it would be complicated getting it on as it has double the straps, but it was easy. Phew! The bra looks great on and is very comfy. It has two, very discreet, holes to either breastfeed or pump milk. It has good support and is high quality. I am definitely a Cake Maternity fan now. Their products are well made and beautiful.

Playful Promises Lingerie SS13

Playful Promises is beautiful lingerie from a London designed brand. Their lingerie is quirky, cool, playful and a little bit retro. I checked out their SS13 range and I loved it. Here are my top choices. What would you choose from Playful Promises?

Freya Lingerie SS13 | Fashion

I came across Freya Lingerie in the Handpicked Media suite at the Aldwych Hotel for London Fashion Week. I loved their SS13 range. They are innovative in many ways, they do the Deco 365 bra. It is a bra which you can wear under any clothes. It was launched in 2009 and they have sold over 300,000 of them.

If you are a larger cup size then it can be hard to find a bra to wear under most things. That is what makes the Deco great. It can be worn any day under any outfit, and day.

Freya also have a sports bra that not only supports you, but also has coolmax material to wick moisture away from the body and a Polygiene fabric, a silver ion based technology that inhibits the growth of bacteria, which gives an odour free, antibacterial finish. It keeps you fresh no matter how hard you work out.

I have chosen some of my personal favourites from the new season. Glamour also love the purple set. Let me know what you think.
