Paint By Pixie Lott Hair Hi-Light Pen Review

pixielottpainthairchalkpenpixielottpaintpinkhairchalkhilightpenreviewThe fashion for pastel hair shows no sign of waning and now Pixie Lott has joined in the fun. Singer/ songwriter and style icon Pixie Lott has delved into the world of beauty with her first range of hair products – a fun, commitment-free range of wash out, head-turning hair colours, which include Hair Chalks, Metallic Sprays and Wash Out Hair Colours.

I tried out the Hair Hi-Light Pen (£2.99). It is available in pink and blue. The packaging is great and fun. The pens are easy to use and give a good colour. You can see how the pink looks on my dark hair. You can change the look: applying lots for pink streaks or applying lightly for highlights. The pens can be used on wet or dry hair and then set with hairspray. When you are bored of it, simply wash it out. Simple, fun AND it looks great. The pen has a fine tip with wind up action which allows accurate application. I’m sold.

Fudge Urban Colour Festival Pink Hair Chalk Review

Pink hair was huge in 2013, and it still shows no sign of waning. Coloured hair is still very much ‘in’. For those who want to be a bit daring without the permanence there is something new for you: hair chalk. It’s such a good idea it is hard to know why it hasn’t been invented before.

pinkhair

Fudge Urban Colour Festival Pink Hair Chalk is just a tub of hair chalk that is very easy to use. I put it on with my fingers, (they looked very fetching after. Not), and…that’s it. Pink hair. You can also make the colour pastel with the ice white hair chalk. You just mix the two together.

I have seen a lot of blonde women with this chalk and the pink is very obvious and striking. If I had layered my pink more I think it would have been much more pink; it was still obvious- and looked great-on my brown hair. It lightened it and the pink was a beautiful, if subtle, colour.

I rang 2014 in wearing the festival pink hair chalk, it is great for something a bit different and fun. It only costs £4.99 and when I ran water over it, it didn’t seem to budge, only doing so when I used shampoo. Fudge Urban Colour Hair Chalk is a ingenious little product: a great idea that works. It also comes in purple, blue and red. Available from Superdrug

Bill Takes The Just For Men 10 Minute Challenge

DARK_BROWN_265x396 We got our writer Bill to take the Just For Men AutoStop challenge. Could he get a new look in the 10 Minute Challenge?
Just for men 10 minute challenge just for men challenge just for men challenge just for men challengeBill took an allergy test before he tried the product, as should you. All was well and Bill then used the hair colour which calls itself ‘revolutionary and fool proof’. Which turned out to be true. The hair colour is fool proof and gives natural results. It uses advanced Oxygen Activated technology, making it the first hair colour product WITHOUT ammonia or peroxide and is activated by oxygen.
What really makes it fool proof is the self-timing formula which shuts off when it reaches the target colour AND it only targets grey hair. It only takes 10 minutes after application and the colour won’t get any darker than the target colour. It also has a great comb-in applicator. What did Bill think? Easy to use and with great, natural results. He’s converted.
You can compare the before (above) photos with the after ones (below).

Going Blonde For Spring?

Kate Middleton may be a brunette but the allure of being blonde will never go away. Think Marilyn Monroe, Kate Winslet, Gwen Stefani , Debbie Harry and Madonna.

Before going blonde you should make sure you choose a shade that suits your skin tone. I once went platinum blonde. It really wasn’t a good look, I am too pale to carry it off.

If you have dark hair (mid-dark brown or black) you will need to strip you hair of its colour with a prelightner, and take your wardrobe and make up into consideration. Your hair has to suit your lifestyle.

Think of your eyebrows too, Madonna may have had black eyebrows and blonde hair in the 80’s but that wasn’t a good look then, and it isn’t now.

Also think of your roots, it you are low maintenance doing your roots a lot might be a bit much, so don’t go a very pale blonde.

The video below let’s you know everything you need to know about going blonde. It has advice on what kind of blonde to go for, how to protect your hair, and how long you should process your hair for the type of hair you have. All with no expensive hairdresser, but using Garnier Nutrisse Crème hair colour instead.

Lyndell Mansfield gives you her top tips in the video.
