1. Don’t just use the space under the stairs to store boxes – add a desk shelf to turn it into a space saving office area.

2. Old perfume boxes or cereal boxes cut in half are perfect dividers for your draws to store your smaller items like makeup, jewellery, creams or hair accessories.

3. Use curtain hooks on a wardrobe rail for your handbags, making each one clearly visible.

4. Thread your ear phone, mobile charger (in fact any type of electrical wire!) through each end of a clothes peg to keep them nice and tidy and untangled.

5. Stuff old tissue boxes with all your old plastic bags and keep under the sink to save space and keep everything neat and tidy.

6. Use shower curtain rings to hang your scarfs through, and then attach all to a hanger – one hanger = all your scarfs!

7. Use chalkboard paint on a kitchen wall to write to-do lists, and messages to do away with the need for messy bits of paper.

8. Recycle jam jars and pasta sauce jars for candle holders, or to store paperclips, staples or any other little knick-knacks – Glue the lid to the underside of a table or shelf and simply twist the jar off to access what’s inside.

9. Mount a tension rod inside cabinets beneath your sink to hang your cleaning bottles on, providing more space below.

10. Take the lid off tin cans, paint the outsides to make them pretty – glue to them to a bathroom wall, then roll up hand towels and insert to create a funky storage solution?

 

 

The Rise of The Mumpreneur: Two Thirds Of Mums Consider Launching a Business From Home

  • Two thirds of mums (65 per cent) with children under ten years of age are considering starting a business from home in the next three years
  • One in six (16 per cent)are motivated by the childcare costs attached to traditional nine-to-five jobs
  • Nearly half of mums (49 per cent) believe that they would be financially better off if they started a business from home

 

New research from Direct Line for Business (DL4B) gorgeousbabyreveals that nearly two thirds of mums (65 per cent)1 with children under the age of ten are considering starting a business from home in the next three years. One in five (20 per cent) mums with children under ten years of age would consider starting a business from home to spend more time with their children.

 

A sixth (16 per cent) of mothers are doing so because of the prohibitive childcare costs associated with working a traditional nine-to-five job. With recent figures putting full-time annual childcare costs at £11,7002 for two children, it is understandable that almost half of the mothers (49 per cent) surveyed believe that they would be better off financially, if they started a business from home.

 

One in seven mums (14 per cent) are motivated to start a business from home by the flexibility of being their own boss, while one in eight (12 per cent) have always had the ambition to start their own business. Only one per cent is motivated by the fact that they do not like their current job.

H20X5 Steam Cleaner reviewUpon arrival of the H20X5 Steam Cleaner my boyfriend was very confused. “I never thought I would see you get excited about a cleaning machine”, he said. “Oh, that’s only because this is supposed to be so easy to use that even you could do it”, I replied. “Well that makes more sense.” he laughed.

In truth I was excited about the steam cleaner because it also makes things easier for me. And it doesn’t use any nasty chemicals. But all of this excitement had to be backed up after using the cleaner.

The cleaner looks great, very stylish. It has lots of attachments and bits in the box. I decide to steam the curtains just to test the cleaner. It is easy to put together. I do it in minutes.

In fact the steam cleaner is a bit like a Mac computer; you can use it within minutes of taking it out of the box. After putting it together I filled it with water, using the measuring cup to fill it up to the max level and turn it on. It has an LED light which is red while heating up and green when not. It is ready within minutes and I start steaming. It is easy to use and only slightly heavier than I thought it would be.

I use different attachments and clean the flat. I cannot get over how easy it us to use, or how well it cleans. It is an essential product that, very quickly, I could never do without. Brilliant machine.

I am always looking at ways to organise my life and make it easier. When you are busy everything has to be in its place. There is no time for rummaging around looking for things, and tidying up needs to be kept to a minimum. Enter organising gadgets, but is Umbra’s Little Black Dress Hanging Jewellery Organiser any good?

First of all; it looks great. It is exactly what it says: a little black dress. It is also very original. I mean, what a brilliant idea. It is good quality too. I was very impressed when I first saw it because of the design. It is designed for Umbra by Matt Carr. Is also available in Red.

You can organise your jewellery on the front and back, the front has 39 clear pockets, the back has 24 hook and loop tabs and the measurements of the organiser are 18 x 42″ (45 x 102 cm).

Little Black Dress Hanging Jewellery Organiser Review

After using it I don’t just thing it looks good, it is good. It holds the jewellery well and it just hangs up anywhere you want. The great thing about the Little Black Dress is that you can see all of your jewellery clearly. It saves time and looks good. What more could you want?

Designed for Umbra by Alan Wisniewski, this chrome plated cat is now one of my favourite things. It may just be a ring holder but it makes me smile every time I look at it. Perfect so you don’t lose your ring or just as a decorative piece. Size is 2 3/4 x 1 x 2 3/4″ (7 x 3 x 7 cm)

The holder can hold a lot of rings on its super long tail and is well designed. It is good quality and just incredibly cute.
