Myself, I tend to go for comfort. I like to wear jeans and a T shirt. It is a uniform and means I do not have to think about what I am wearing too much. Jeans are tough and hard-wearing. Jeans and a T shirt always look good. You can dress up or down in jeans. Pair them with some trainers and a casual T shirt for a relaxed day, or with some scrappy sandals and a dressy top for a barbecue or a summer party. I have a few different pairs of jeans. Boyfriend jeans are my favourite. Skinny jeans are a classic and bootcut are great with, yes, you guessed it, boots. Bootcut jeans can also make your legs look longer. You cannot hide anything in skinny jeans.

Some people never wear jeans and think they are just too casual. And that is fine. Trousers come in all shapes and sizes. Black trousers are a very classic look. They smarten up an outfit. I see a lot of patterned trousers now and I think they look amazing. A nice bold pattern works well.

We are all so busy and the best thing to do is to make your wardrobe work as hard as possible. You have better things to do in life than worry about what to wear everyday. Fill your wardrobe up with separates that work well together and you will always be stylish with little effort.

Ripped Jeans

Personally I love the ripped jeans look. It’s edgy, fun and can easily be pulled off with a simple tee or an oversized jumper. It says “I’m causal and carefree” but can also create a chic and stylish ensemble.
Worn with hightop trainers, classic pumps or statement stilettos, the ripped look can turn around that plain old boring outfit of jeans and a vest and give it an effortlessly laid-back yet high fashion twist.

What I particularly admire about ripped jeans is the versatility of accessorise that can be worn with them. A necklace – chunky or quaint. A handbag – clutch or shoulder. Shoes – flats or killer heels, the list goes on! Either way these jeans can make both a grungy hardcore look, or a sleek and polished one.

Like me, if you’re struggling to find that perfect pair, you can easily create your own by slicing and dicing an old pair that are maybe losing their fit or have faded on the knees – or maybe you can’t wait until pay day! This fast and effective way can bring that old pair of skinny jeans that you have fallen out of love with into the cool, chilled and fashionable pair you’ve been searching the stores for.

Frost Shopping Challenge: Finding The Perfect Jeans

buying perfect jeans. Selfridge jeans loungI hate shopping. It is so stressful and I find it hard to find clothes that fit me. It is pretty stressful too. So I teamed up with Sure to do the Sure Maximum Protection heat fresh challenge. Using their Everyday Fresh fragrance in their Sure Maximum Protection range. I went to find the perfect pair of jeans from Selfridge’s fancy denim section.

Selfridges denim section is jean lover heaven. A range of jeans from £9 to £260 is available, and there is also an interactive section where you can search for jeans and even put price range and style in. It makes the difficulty of buying jeans easy.

I don’t want the £9 Primark jeans so that is already out. I also don’t want to spend over £150 on a pair of jeans as that just seems obscene. It is pretty stressful to find a pair of reasonably priced, good-quality jeans.

I scour the shelves and look at every pair. I go to the interactive section and they only have a number of jeans in the colour (black) and style (straight) that I want. This is becoming stressful. Thankfully, I don’t break out into a sweat. I see an American Apparel pair of jeans. They are black, £69 and skinny. I have a mixed relationship with skinny jeans. Not everyone looks good in them and I think I might be one of those people. I head to the American Apparel counter and try the jeans on. The staff stand outside the changing room and ask my endless questions. I feel uncomfortable but still have not broken a sweat.

I try the jeans on and, finally!, a pair of jeans that look good quality and they fit! They are proper skinny jeans but thankfully all of the stress of moving and the no sugar diet I am on has worked to my benefit.

I have my jeans and I am happy. I love my new jeans and have been wearing them to death. And thanks to my review of Sure’s Everyday Fresh fragrance I was cool when the heat was on.

Sure Maximum Protection is twice as strong as the leading antiperspirant. The new Everyday Fresh fragrance is out now, lasts for 48 hours and is available from Boots and other leading retailers. £5.10 approx. The antiperspirant lasts for ages and it really works. The best antiperspirant I have ever used.

Classic Fashion Buys

Jessica Ennis London Fashion WeekA lot can be said for having a capsule wardrobe. In fact most of those I-have-nothing-to-wear moments could be averted by a classic wardrobe. While certain garments will be up to interpretation we have put together what we think are some fashion classics. They can be mixed together and used separately to build up a great basis for a classic wardrobe. Here are our picks, put your own below.

Black Trousers

An absolute classic. You would be surprised at just how much you can dress up a pair of black trousers.

Little Black Dress

Ditto. A little black dress is what accessories were made for. You could wear a black dress everyday and still make it seem like a different one with clever accessorising.

White Fitted Shirt

White is classic and just looks amazing. Fitted is best. You can get good custom shirts for women at Shirtinator.co.uk. When buying a white shirt make sure it is good quality.

A Good Blazer

A good blazer can be worn with a dress for night and with jeans during the day for a great smart casual look.

Jeans

Who can live without jeans? Well, I have done so in the past but they really do make getting dressed so much easier. You can even have a night out wearing jeans and still look dressed up.

How To Find The Perfect Jeans. Mimi Noor Tells You How

james_twiggy_blackclean_01Frost Magazine has called on Mimi Noor, the owner of Miminoor.com, to help you find the perfect pair of jeans. Mimi offers a personal outfit builder advice section on her website. With a focus on how to buy the perfect jeans and turn the chore of finding the right pair into a pleasurable experience.
Mimi Noor stocks a variety of designer brands including J Brand, Victoria Beckham, James Jeans, Wild Fox, Zoe Karssen and Des Petit Hauts.
What should a woman look for when buying jeans?
One of the first recommendations I would make is to really narrow down what
occasions you want your denim for as it’s going to determine what to
look for in a new pair of jeans. There are so many fantastic denim brands
that are able to offer styles to suit every shape so women no longer have to
worry about a certain jean style for their body; it’s all about lifestyle.
Work out if you want an everyday pair or one for evenings/smart casual wear. What footwear are you likely to wear with it?  I’ve had so many customers who have admitted to buying several pairs of flares or bootcuts because they tried them on with killer heels, which looked great in the shop. However, if your lifestyle means that you can’t wear killer heels all day every day then you’re not going to get the right amount of wear and should reserve these styles for evenings out or special occasions.
What is the main problem women have when buying jeans?
Buying jeans on your own can be a scary experience because most stores don’t
offer the sort of assistance you need when finding that perfect pair of
jeans. Many brands run sizing differently so you never know what size
you are, It is not always obvious how the styles differ and often no one is
available or knowledgeable in denim to help you pull out the right size,
colour or shape once you’re in the changing room.
How do they fix this?
I would always recommend shopping with a friend or relative you trust if
you’re buying denim from the high street or in department stores. Take your
friend with you to help bring you alternative options or sizes once you’re
in the changing room and ask their honest opinion on whether the cut suits
you. Alternatively, shop with a specialist like us. We provide a
consultative service where we establish what you want your jeans for,
determine your general size, provide alternative options based on your
feedback and then do any further alterations you may require (such as hemming to
the correct length).

I find it really hard to find a great pair of jeans, they always seem too big at the waist. What is your main tip for women to buy the perfect jeans?
The 3 main considerations to make when buying your perfect jeans are
1) What purpose do I want these jeans for
2) What footwear am I most likely to wear with them
3) What rise is most comfortable for me
So many pear shaped women struggle to find a pair of jeans that fit well on the legs and fit neatly into the curve of the back or waist as you’ve mentioned. This is where rise comes into play!
Depending on your figure your preferred rise will vary. So often we find that women who have that perfect pear shape will need a jean with a higher rise and greater fabric stretch so that the jean fits perfectly on the legs and nips into the back of your waist.
For ladies who are really long bodied the high rise is going to sit
like a mid rise so it’s really important to factor the rise that’s most
comfortable for you.
What are the best jeans for the following body shapes: Tall, short, petite
and curvy?

The denim market right now is full of amazing brands that are able to offer
a plethora of styles for every body shape out there so the traditional
combinations such as a pear shape with a bootcut don’t necessarily apply anymore. As a general rule I would suggest:
Tall: A mid to low rise jean in a straight or skinny style. My pick would be the Goldsign misfit, which is long in length with a 14″ leg opening that means it’s sleek but not ankle tight.
Short: Super skinny styles look great on smaller girls as they flatter a more petite
frame. My favourite would be the James Jean Twiggy style.
Curvy: Curvy girls look best in two shapes. Firstly, a high waisted skinny looks
fantastic on a pear shape when teamed with boots or heels. Equally a
babyboot looks great on this frame. Pick the J Brand Maria or 818
respectively.
What are your favourite jeans?
Picking a favourite is so hard but so far this season I have been living in
my Mih Bonn in minidot. It’s a cropped skinny with a high waist, which is
perfect on my frame and the fabric is super soft. I love how the polka dots are on trend but subtle enough for everyday wear.

Gemma Arterton's clothes struggle

Gemma Arterton says it’s hard to find clothes that suit her curvy figure.

The stunning actress admits she sometimes struggles to find outfits that flatter her hourglass body and can’t just wear anything so often relies on Italian fashion house Gucci.

She said: “My shape means I can’t throw on an outfit. Gucci tends to design best for my hourglass figure.”

Gemma is also a fan of tailored jackets as they go with any outfit.

She told Britain’s Vogue magazine: “I wear my tailored jackets to death – Armani, Givenchy and Margiela.”

As well as wearing certain clothes, Gemma also sticks to the same perfume and make-up.

She said: “I do love a red lip – Nars Jungle Red is my favourite.

“My scents always have hints of Jasmine. Right now, it’s Balenciaga Paris – it’s floral, light and musky.”

Gemma has previously admitted she likes to keep her style simple.

She said: “For me it’s kind of simple really. I don’t really go for anything too embellished or fancy or frilly or girly and it has to be easy because I haven’t got time for anything that’s too difficult!

“I just like putting on a pair jeans and jacket and going, although I do like heels – I’ve got a passion for shoes, but I always end up wearing the one same pair of shoes. But it works with my lifestyle because I’m always running around so it doesn’t work for me to wear tight skirts and corsets, or whatever it is! Jeans are definitely the way forward.”
