Amazing European Jewellery Brands You Need To Know

If you’ve looked through your accessories collection recently and thought “I need some new jewellery” then you’re most definitely not alone. But where to look for inspiration? Well, how about abroad, to some of the most interesting jewellery designers coming out of Europe. Though it’s difficult to find a lot of these brands in the UK, you can find several of them on sites like Asos or in the House of Rokoko jewellery range. Failing that you can go straight to the brand’s website.

Maria Francesca Pepe

Loved by Rihanna, Lady Gaga and Nicole Scherzinger, the Italian jewellery brand Maria Francesca Pepe (MFP) is the go-to for edgy, urban accessories. Designs are inspired by British avant garde and handcrafted by Italian artisans, with the fall/winter 2014/2015 celebrating Life Love and Soul. Look out for the Forever cuffs and the Love rings whose fluorescent tones, enamel scribbles and sharp spikes will make a statement on any outfit.

Con Luz Propia

The Cadiz-based designers Con Luz Propia (With Your Own Light) focus on making vivid, striking jewellery from natural materials and vintage items, whether that’s freshwater pearls, stones or metal. The designers are comprised of young artists and travellers who draw inspiration from their stays in various countries across the globe. Their Rainbow Pearl necklace is typical, combining the finest handpainted pearls with gold silk for elegance.

Hendrikka Waage

Hendrika Waage was Iceland’s first international jewellery designer (she also happens to be a children’s book author and a campaigner for children!) and her pieces have featured in Vogue, Elle, Glamour and Hello. Inspired by spirituality as much as natural materials, her collections include necklaces made from wood and lava beads as well as bracelets made from crystals with images of Buddha and the Hand of Fatima. You can find her range on her site or at Icelandic fashion retailer Lastashop.

Ole Lynggaard
Another of Scandinavia’s leading designers, Ole Lynggaard is a goldsmith and jeweller who founded the eponymous business and now makes pieces by appointment of the royal court. Needless to say, the jewellery is among the finest in the world, expertly crafted from premium materials. From the Lotus rings with their flower-like precious stones to the Sweet Drops bracelets, which are customisable with different charms, it’s pure luxury.
