Chet Faker announce UK tour | Music News

Australian warbler Chet Faker has announced a handful of UK shows, following his shows at Austin’s SXSW festival where he was touted as a “must see” act by The Austin Chronicle. His cover of Blackstreet’s ‘No Diggity’ has received warm radio support from the likes of Zane Lowe, Lauren Laverne, and Gilles Peterson.

Melbourne-base Chet will touch down in the UK for shows in May, playing the BBC Introducing showcase at The Social and YoYo at Notting Hill Arts Club, as well as a series of performances at The Great Escape Festival in Brighton.

John Cale announces full UK tour | Music News

Former Velvet Underground man John Cale has announced a full UK tour for October.  A full length studio album is expected this year on Double Six Records.

Cale formed the Velvet Underground in 1965 with Lou Reed and together they wrote many of the Velvets classics until 1968 when Cale left the band due to music differences. Since then he’s forged a very successful solo career.

Flats – tour dates postponed, album release date pushed back | Music News

London punks Flats have postponed their forthcoming UK Tour which was due to kick off at London’s 100 Club on 1st May and run throughout to the end of the month. At the moment we have no firm news on when it will be rescheduled for but the band are working flat out to get things rescheduled for “later in the summer”.

There is no word as to why this is but a consequence of this is that the release date of their album, ‘Better Living’, has been pushed back to 4th June to coincide with new dates, which will be announced “soon”. Have a read of what Frost made of the album here.

 

Anna Calvi to play Summer Series at Somerset House | Music News

 

London-born singer Anna Calvi has announced she will headline the Summer Series at Somerset House, London on 12th July 2012. The show, will be Calvi’s only London show this year and will be highly anticipated following her sold out show at the Shepherd’s Bush Empire in 2011 and she promises a “very special new show for this beautiful space.”

Other artists headlining the Summer Series this year include Tim Minchin, Katy B, Jill Scott, The Enemy, Temper Trap, Tindersticks, M83 and Paloma Faith.

Tickets go on general sale at 9am on Friday, 27th April

Leeds indie band The Rosie Taylor Project have announced their next single, ‘Every Morning’ is to be released on April 30th via Odd Box Records. The single is the latest to be lifted from their recent album Twin Beds’. 
The band have also announced tour dates in July:

6th-8th July – Indietracks Festival @ The Midlands Railway Centre, Derbyshire
