Rosie Huntington-Whiteley brings touch of glamour to Paris Motor Show

DATE: Wednesday 1st October, 2014

  • British supermodel and actress showcases new premium compact SUV on River Seine
  • Giant barge with 4.5 metre Wellington boots brings uniquely British sense of fun to French capital

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley today swapped the catwalks of Paris Fashion Week for the River Seine as she showcased the Land Rover Discovery Sport in its uniquely British public debut.

The 27 year-old supermodel and actress brought her inimitable style to the French capital as she was seen stepping from one of a pair of Discovery Sports aboard a giant barge moored in the centre of the city.

The former Victoria’s Secret model, also known for her role in TransformersDark of the Moon and the upcoming Mad Max: Fury Road, was stood flanked by seven pairs of brightly coloured, giant-sized Wellington boots – some as tall as 4.5 metres. The boots, a creative reference to both the Discovery’s versatile seating layout and Land Rover’s unique take on outdoor life, brought a sense of quintessential British heritage and humour to the Rive Gauche.

After revealing Discovery Sport to the world’s media for the first time, the 80-metre long barge continued to turn heads on its attention-grabbing journey down the River Seine, cruising past Parisian landmarks such as the Eiffel Tower and Notre-Dame Cathedral.

The Paris debut of the new Discovery Sport follows the digital reveal of the vehicle last month, which included Land Rover’s Galactic Discovery competition – giving four friends the chance to win a once-in-a-lifetime trip to space with Land Rover’s global partner, Virgin Galactic.

Cowboys & Indians: Gucci SS2015

Gucci seem to be sporting a Wild West theme for Spring/summer, going extreme vintage by bringing back cowboys and Indians!

I get a definite Western vibe from all the feathers, neckties, and denim seen on the runway.

I’m loving the creativity of combining high fashion fabrics and patterns with Wild West infusions. Taking the old embroidery, suede and fur but giving it a modern twist.

Double denim is definitely making a comeback! Again, an obvious cowgirl theme being seen here – simple denim and accessorising with colourful neckties. Give them a cowboy hat and a horse and they’ll be sorted in no time!

Fashions Finest SS/15 LFW Show – No Fixed Abode – Anarchic denims…

016014017

Emma Mann has created a collection designed to test your cool genes.  Extremely talented with a great business mind, she knows exactly what she wants to bring to the brand, luxury streetwear fashion direct from London, ‘in your face’ co-ordinates that shout anarchy. Part of the addiction of this collection must be the attention, not just to detail, but also the presence it exudes from the catwalk.  Camouflage denim prints accentuated by crisp yellow edgings and padded linings, bright and muted colours fused together to create an intense collection.  Edgy and controversial but doesn’t exclude the mainstream, a range of clothing which tells the story of a fashion moment, but will stand the test of time.

The No Fixed Abode SS/15 collection satisfies fashion’s current taste for androgynous aesthetics but also scores high marks for comfort and practicality, battle dress with a girlie twist. A celebration of what you are and who you are… 011 012 009

Anna Wintour Answers 73 Questions And It Is Brilliant

Anna Wintour doesn’t give many interviews and has always been something of a fashion enigma. Which is why we absolutely love this amazing video where she is asked 73 questions whilst going about her business. She talks about Brooklyn, the Rumors, and the One Thing She Will Never Wear. Peter Pilotto Spring-Summer 2015

A firm Frost favourite, we fell head over hells in love with Peter Pilotto’s SS15 collection. We want EVERYTHING.

Peter Pilotto and Christopher de Vos explore a transcendent wash of light and colour in their SS15 collection as craft is elevated beyond print, through a myriad of treatments. Cyber florals join a constellation of swirling geometry as coils and fans of guipure lace meet technical macrame and custom dandelion jacquards with sparkling tinsel.

Applied to iridescent organza, silk leaves and windowpane checks float over the skin, whilst grids of naive florals blossom on black denim. The collection’s spectral palette pulses energetically throughout.

The silhouette moves between a trim bodice, to ultra slim trousers to planed shifts, some with airy volumes explored as a handkerchief hem and the neat folds of an A-line skirt.

Giant paisley and abstract rosettes in Perspex are hinged and fractured amongst a scatter of Swarovski crystal. Studies of classical draping, paired with featherweight knits, melt into asymmetry, finished with a cascade of sequins. Interlocking chain motifs, realised in bright embroideries, vibrate throughout the collection.
