Barbados goddess Rihanna is shining brighter than ever, designing for River Island and touring her new album all over the world. On the collaboration with River Island, Rihanna says:

“Launching at London Fashion Week is a dream come true for me. I have wanted to design my own collection for a long time and to present my collection for River Island alongside all of the other great design talent at LFW is a real privilege. I can’t wait to see the reaction from my fans and the fashion press!”

Rihanna has also started rehearsals for her new ‘Diamonds’ world tour. Rihanna will be touring her new album, Unapologetic and says that she is ‘hyped’ about it. The world tour starts in March. Click here to buy Rihanna tickets.

Frost Magazine favourite Vanessa Paradis is the face of Conscious, as H&M launches Garment Collecting

Vanessa Paradis is the face of Conscious at H&M this spring, wearing pieces in the campaign that are both on-trend and also more-sustainable. It is all part of H&M’s ongoing commitment to a more sustainable fashion future, showing that the best fashion can be made from Conscious materials.

The actress and singer wear pieces as a ruffle-edged yellow sundress, as well as an embellished zip-up utility jacket worn with botanical print trousers. The pieces are part of a collection full of optimism for spring, with romantic styles like a floor-length dress alongside sporty shapes such as a cropped jumpsuit and a tropical print T-shirt dress. There are accessories too, such as ankle-strap heels, and the entire collection is made from more sustainable materials, such as organic cotton, recycled polyester, and Tencel.

The full women’s collection will be available in H&M stores worldwide as well as online from end of March, alongside Conscious collections for Men – blazers, chinos, Ikat print shirts and shorts – as well as fun prints for kids and babies.

Vanessa Paradis says, “I like being part of something like the Conscious collection at H&M. I try my best to shop consciously, and vintage is very much part of my wardrobe. I love the style and it works in an eco-friendly way because I like to use and reuse old clothes.”

Coinciding with the campaign will be the launch of a Conscious garment collecting action at H&M. Customers will be able to bring any unwanted garments from any label to selected stores, and in return for each bag receive an H&M voucher, to a maximum of two bags per customer per day. H&M is the first store to encourage garment return on this scale, in an effort to prevent clothing from going to landfill.

ShopStyle reveals a surprising winner in the party fashion stakes – the humble onesie for men

 

Maybe it’s the arctic weather, but this season it seems we’re snuggling up on the sofa in an oversized onesie rather than out partying. Of the fashion terms searched for by men and women in the last month, the UK’s no 1 fashion shopping site ShopStyle.co.uk has revealed that the humble ‘onesie for men’ was the most searched for term, coming in above traditional party clothes ‘sequin dresses’ and ‘faux fur coats’.

 

But the good news is it seems we haven’t dumped the glamour for comfort completely. Of the fashion terms searched for by men and women, ‘sequin dress’ came third, with the enduring fashion classic, the maxi dress fifth, and over-the-knee boots in tenth. Lace proved to continue to be a popular trend, with lace dresses in at numbers eight and nine.

 

Joanna Wells, editorial director for ShopStyle commented: “Like it or not, this has been the year of the onesie with everyone from Rihanna to Rylan from the X Factor sporting the casual and cosy look. At this time of year we’d usually expect to see a sparkly party dress as the number one most searched-for item; but it seems the more elegant Kate Middleton look is still popular with lace dresses coming in the top ten.”

Team GB starlet Jessica Ennis admits ‘I’d love to start my own fashion label

Jessica Ennis has had quite a year, winning gold at the Olympics and becoming an idol for young girls everywhere. Now Jessica is branching out.

Speaking exclusively in City’s AM luxury magazine Bespoke, Olympic starlet Jessica Ennis said:

“I ADORE Victoria Beckham and Alexander McQueen…”

“I’d love to start my own fashion label…”

“I’ve been to two award ceremonies in the last two nights…”

You could be forgiven for thinking these were the words of a Hollywood starlet or seasoned pop star. But this is Jessica Ennis – the poster girl for the 2012 Olympics and contender for BBC Sports Personality of the Year, who, in the mind of the nation, wears lycra as a second skin.

Almost overnight she has become a focal point for the post-Olympics revival of Cool Britannia, as likely to be spotted in Stella McCartney as the new Adidas collection (which she is modelling the day City’s AM luxury magazine Bespoke caught up with her).

The change must be startling: one moment she’s a promising heptathlete, relatively unknown outside a group of loyal fans committed to the sport, the next, she’s an unexpected fashion darling.

So how is she enjoying the transition from tracksuits – and looking very good in them, mind you – to being dressed by some of the most sought after labels in the world? “It’s a brilliant position to be in,” she says. “It’s nice to have the option to pick and choose – it’s less stressful when you’re deciding what to wear.”

Her reinvention as a poster-girl has also given her design ambitions of her own and she confides that a collection is definitely on the horizon. “I would love to go down that road,” she says, “whether it’s collaborating with [a big sportswear brand] or doing the more fashiony side of things.”

With the amount of work coming her way, plus the prospects of further gold on the horizon, don’t expect Jessica Ennis, national treasure, unlikely fashion queen, to take her foot off the pedal for long.
