The Quick And Easy Way To Make The Perfect Hot Chocolate

When it comes to cooking I can be pretty lazy. I am always looking for shortcuts in the kitchen. So I was pretty pleased when I came up with a method for making the perfect hot chocolate without using a saucepan and going through the bother of warming up milk. Ready? Here it is: just boil the kettle, take a mug, add 2-3 heaped spoonfuls of hot chocolate. Add milk to the mug and stir. Then when the kettle boils, add water. If you fill the mug up half milk and half boiled water then you have the perfect hot chocolate without the faff. The key to perfection here is the ratio of boiled water to milk. It may be different for you so experiment. Too little milk ruins the taste, too little water means it is too cold. But when you get it right it is divine. Extra points for adding marshmallows. Yum.

Patricia Arquette’s Oscar Speech Is a Thing of Beauty | Watch Now

Patricia Arquette , speech, feminism, oscar speech, equal pay, Winner of Best Actress In A Supporting Role Oscar 2015Patricia Arquette’s kick ass Oscar Speech took over the internet, and rightly so. While political statements are generally frowned upon at the Academy Awards, Arquette won the hearts of people all over the world with her demand for equal pay for women. The best reaction came from Meryl Streep and Jennifer Lopez, both of whom nearly fell off their seats with glee. Equal pay for women in Hollywood has been a widely debated topic since the Sony hacks. I hope that Arquette’s speech makes a difference, she has at least raised awareness to billions of people, and for that she is amazing.

She also said earlier this year that she paid her babysitter and dog walker more money than she made on Boyhood. She isn’t the only one to speak out. Hilary Swank said: “My male counterpart will get paid ten times more than me — ten times. Not double, but ten times for the same job. We only have this much left for the female actress. I mean, there’s two genders on this earth. Both are compelling, interesting, diverse, wonderful in all their own separate ways. And yet there’s an influx of male roles, and there’s just not for women.”

While Amy Pascal has said that the problem is that women accept less money than men it is not as simple as that. Pascal herself said that there are less roles for women so women are more likely to work for less just to have a job. This is a sad state of affairs that must change. Arquette has started the battle call, we must all follow through.

IMF Becomes Latest Hacking Victim

The IMF has become the latest major organisation to be targeted by a sophisticated cyber-attack.  The attack which started earlier this year was designed to install software creating a, ‘digital insider presence’. An internal IMF email revealed that, ‘suspicious file transfers had been detected’. According to the New York Times emails and other sensitive documents were hacked into.

The attack is believed to have taken place over several months. The IMF was reluctant to give details about the attack but they did confirm an incident was being investigated. They also said the fund remained fully active. However, according to the Metro, one unnamed IT official at the organisation described the attack as a ‘very major breach’. Cyber security experts have speculated that a foreign government is behind the attack.

The attack follows similar incidents at Sony, Google and Citigroup during the last few months. The FBI has said it is planning a major step up in efforts to combat cyber-attacks. CIA director Leon Panetta told the US congress earlier this week that he fears a major cyber-attack which cuts off power, security and government systems.
