Urbanista Seattle Wireless Headphones Review

Urbanista Seattle Wireless Headphones Review blue Urbanista Seattle Wireless Headphones

Okay, first thing first: the Urbanista Seattle Wireless Headphones are not only gorgeous, but damn sexy. They have a luxurious, polished feel to them. They feel solid, like they are well-made, which- of course- they are. You can buy them wired or wireless. We reviewed the wireless ones.

Swedish brand Urbanista have launched headphones with a crisp sound and impressive base for an extraordinary listening experience. The audio quality is amazing. The wireless aspect is easy to set up, you charge the headphones and then they connect via bluetooth. The headphones also come with a wire incase you cannot be bothered charging them. They have a practical folding function which saves on space and makes the headphones very portable. The headband is seamless and adjustable. The cushions are memory foam and comfortable.

The Seattle also has a built-in microphone for mobile calls and a sharing sound plug so you can share your favourite tunes with your friends. We have tried many headphones at Frost over the years and these are our favourite. The Urbanista Seattle is available in four different stylish colours; rose gold, white, black and blue petroleum. We reviewed the blue petroleum.

Highly recommend not just for style, but also for sound quality. Practical with great design: the Seattle has it all.

Wraps Wearable Wristband Headphones Review

image001

I am forever looking for my headphones. They are usually lost in the chaos of my changing bag, amongst nappies and fruit pouches. I even dot them around the house. My reliance on headphones now is usually so I can make a hand-free phone call while pushing the pram, listen to music loud while the baby sleeps, or keep myself awake whilst giving him a bottle at night.

My other headphones issue is that they forever get tangled up. I waste so much time untangling them. Not so with Wraps. These wearable headphones caught my eye. They are wristband headphones which look great and come in a variety of beautiful colours. I have them in Lagoon which is a beautiful blue colour. They have a one button mic which is really handy. They have a beautiful fibre braided cable and precision 10mm dynamic speakers. The sound quality is fantastic and they look fab.

Wraps Wearable earphones – Turn your earphones into a summer fashion accessory and never get them tangled again.

Lost numerous pairs already? Want your headphones to sound good AND look good? Wearing headphones is not just about listening to music, it’s about how you look listening to music! Wraps were created from this concept but took it a step further by making the wraps permanently wearable, whether wearing them in your ears or on your wrist.

When worn on the wrist, the unique patented slider system keeps the lightweight alloy heads, slider and jack plug all connected together for a secure compact fit. The cables are kept in perfect alignment and remain tangle free and always close to hand!

Wraps have recently launched the new ‘Talk’ range featuring a universal one button microphone which comes in six fresh, funky colour options. Stylish and functional: you can answer a call, play or pause your music and skip tracks all without having to dig into your bag or pockets for your device. Compatible with all smartphones and tablets.

Wraps Talk are available in a range of colours from www.mywraps.com and Amazon with prices starting at £19.99.

Atomic Floyd AirJax In Ear Acoustics Review

Atomic-Floyd-Airjax-reviewAirJax are made especially for iPhone, iPad and iPod. They can also be used on non-Apple products Skype and Blackberry. They offer amazing audio quality and style. Unbelievable style, they are the Naomi Campbell of in-ear acoustics. Just beautiful.

Just to up the style quote they come with a black leather case which is red suede inside and opens when you apply pressure. They are ‘hand-crafted in metal’, this metal includes acoustic steel, an ultra thin metal, titanium and 24k gold. They are high quality as you would expect, well made and just sigh-worthy.

They come with a microphone and have a button for answering calls. The earphones have removable metal hooks which turns them into fitness earphones, very handy and you do not even notice them as they are so comfortable. The earhooks also come with black sleeves, a flight adapter and mini jack.

Now to the audio: it is just perfect. Everything works in harmony and every genre of music sounds magnificent. The rich, creamy bass is first class. These gorgeous and pretty much perfect earphones, their only negative for some people is that they are not compatible on a PC or ordinary MP3 player, are a must if you have the extra cash for beautiful, high-quality earphones with impeccable sound. Amazing.

Gift Ideas for Gadget Geeks

With so many new gadgets popping up every week it’s sometimes difficult to sift through the boring stuff to find the more exciting releases. We’ve pulled together a list of the best gift ideas for those people in your life who love their gadgets.

Nintendo DS

There are plenty of incarnations of this hand held console. The newest being the 3DS XL. It’s perfect for the guy or girl that’s into their games but doesn’t want to spend hours sitting in front of a television screen. Of course, if you want to go all out with a gift for the Nintendo lover then there’s the new Wii U, out for Christmas.

Raspberry Pi

This might be taking the geekiness a little far when it comes to gadgets, the Raspberry Pi is a micro-computer that has been designed to get students into programming. However, it has so many other uses too. It can be set up as an emulator to play old arcade games and some very clever people use them to automate their homes, where they control things like lighting and heating.

The best thing to do with your Raspberry Pi is to turn it into a media centre. Using something called XBMC and coupled with a USB hard drive full of TV shows and movies, you could set yourself up a media centre without too much trouble at all. If you are going to buy this for someone, either make sure they have the skills to set it up or make sure you provide instructions!

Skullcandy Headphones

Everyone wants to look stylish when listening to music and Skullcardy headphones are the epitome of cool. Not only that but the sound quality they give off is amazing. Depending on the style of the person you are buying for, you could get huge DJ-esque headphones or simple in-ear buds.

There’s a huge range of colours to choose from and the prices range from £15 all the way up to £300.

Camera

There’s a wide field of gifts in this category, but it gives you a chance to think about what the person you are buying for might like. If you are buying for a snowboarder then an on-helmet camera will mean they get to show off their moves in the snow.

If your loved one has a penchant for scuba diving then one of the new underwater cameras from Polaroid is certain to please. The XS7, XS20 and XS100 are all new offerings from Polaroid and range from £45 up to £120.

iPod Dock

There are some very cool speaker docks out there and the retro styling of the ViewQuest Retro Radio hits all the right buttons. It echoes back to the 1950s but is actually an iPhone/iPod dock.

If you want to go for something more modern then the Panasonic SC-HC05 is white with sleek lines and all the bells and whistles you’d expect from a £150 speaker system.

Professor Green says ‘Stop listening to my music’

Music artist Professor Green is encouraging people to stop listening to his music. He’s teamed up with us for our new safety campaign asking people to remove their headphones at level crossings so they aren’t distracted from warnings about approaching trains.

Two people have tragically died this year at footpath crossings and it is thought they were wearing headphones, in the past five years there have been 19 incidents involving headphones at level crossings.

Two people have died this year at footpath crossings where it is thought they were wearing headphones. In the past five years, train drivers or railway staff have reported 19 incidents where pedestrians, joggers or cyclists wearing headphones have crossed the railway, seemingly oblivious to the approaching train.

“I never imagined asking people to stop listening to my music but this is about staying safe, so just for a minute, I want them to stop. I know it’s very easy to get caught up in a track when you have your headphones on and get distracted from where you are and what’s around you but I’m asking, please, lose your headphones when at a level crossing and pay attention to all the safety warnings. I don’t want anyone to end up on the tracks listening to one of mine.”

Professor Green, rapper

Win Sonos music speakers

Our digital campaign ‘Lose Your Headphones’ features the popular rapper in a video which appears on the music streaming service Spotify as well as being promoted via social media sites such as Twitter. We’re offering a prize of Sonos music speakers to five lucky winners who re-tweet our campaign message.

Don’t get distracted

Trains can travel up to 125mph on the main British rail network and even with safety warnings such as lights and signs at footpaths across the tracks, it’s easy to get distracted if you’re caught up with your favourite tune.

Stay safe

Dr Bruno Fazenda, from the Acoustics Research Centre, University of Salford said: “Hearing is the only sense that can warn us of dangers we can’t see and when listening to music with headphones we become isolated and are less likely to hear sounds that might tell us of approaching dangers. It’s not just the volume of the music but also because the headphone itself blocks out ambient noise.

There is also plenty of evidence which shows that when you are doing two activities at the same time, such as listening to music or texting and crossing a railway track, your attention gets divided in such a way that you might not notice an approaching train even if all the warning signals are there.”

Lindsay leaves rehab: get the Loh-down on what she is wearing

Yet more controversy surrounded Lindsay Lohan as she left rehab last week and was photographed wearing designer gear, clutching an energy drink and sporting a pair of V-MODA Crossfade LPs. As the pictures emerged, speculation grew as to whether Lohan had been paid to wear some of the following items:

* V-MODA headphones: £220
* Ray-Ban sunglasses: £100
* Hermes mini-Birkin bag: price unavailable
* RockStar appetite drink: £1.70
* Hermès belt: price unavailable

Our sources at V-MODA have confirmed that Lindsay was not paid to wear the Crossfade LP headphones, but instead picked them up from the Kari Feinstein gifting suite at the MTV Movie Awards. Keep on rocking Lindsay!
