The Only Way is Made in Alton

Alton Towers Resort offers guests the chance to star in their own reality TV show

The Alton Towers Resort is today introducing a new service that offers theme park visitors 15 minutes of fame by giving them the chance to star in their very own reality TV-show. In the wake of the success of The Only Way is Essex, Made in Chelsea and Geordie Shore, the Alton Towers Resort is hoping its ‘Reality of Alton’ package* will prove a draw to guests hoping to emulate their reality TV heroes.

A first of its kind and available on request, guests can be followed around the park by a film crew who will record every element of their day, before editing the footage to create a one-hour ‘episode’. The cameras will follow the thrill seeking guests as they explore Britain’s Greatest Escape and experience the world’s first free fall drop coaster, TH13TEEN and face their fears on the intense vertical drop coaster, Oblivion before soaring through the skies on Air. Thought to be the ultimate home video experience, the Alton Towers Resort is trialling the bespoke and premium service until the end of the Theme Park season this November.

The personally tailored film also has a range of bolt-on extras including photographers that will tail the group around the Theme Park throughout the day, capturing their every move and red-carpet treatment including the option of adding a celeb voiceover to the footage.

Katherine Duckworth, Head of Consumer Marketing at Alton Towers Resort said, “In the last year alone Katie Price and Kerry Katona have both visited the Resort as part of their reality TV shows, so we thought why not extend this to our guests at Britain’s Greatest Escape. By introducing this premium ‘Reality of Alton’ service we hope to give visitors to the Theme Park a real taste of what it is like to be a reality TV star while they enjoy the ground breaking rollercoasters and attractions that the Resort has to offer.”

Stacey Soloman Named Mum Of The Year.

STACEY ADDS ANOTHER CROWN TO THE CABINET

Stacey Solomon is named Foxy Bingo Celebrity Mum of the Year 2011

After an outstanding few weeks in the media spotlight, the nation’s favourite single mum, Stacey Solomon, has today been awarded the coveted crown of Foxy Bingo Celebrity Mum of the Year by the British public.

The down-to-earth Dagenham girl seems to have hit the right note with the public as she fought of stiff competition from a host of famous mums including her 2009 X Factor mentor Dannii Minogue and last year’s winner Holly Willoughby. Aussie based Dannii was hot on Stacey’s heels in the voting until the final few days when Brits plumped for home grown talent and loveable Stacey stole the number one spot.

Despite a well publicised comeback Kerry Katona, who has won the award twice previously, seems yet to win the public support she craves, finishing 8th. The blow comes just days after Stacey was announced as the new face of frozen food chain Iceland – a role Kerry previously fulfilled until 2009.

Stacey, who juggles her career with being a mum to three year old Zachery, stole the nation’s heart when she was crowned Queen of the Jungle on ITV’s popular reality show, I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here, earlier this year. The star whose support from the public appears to be going from strength to strength has also been signed alongside Vernon Kay to star in her own quiz show.

Noel Rowse, Managing Director, Foxy Bingo said: “We are delighted to announce Stacey as the winner of the Foxy Bingo Celebrity Mum Award for 2011. She is a down to earth person who is in the spotlight for the right reasons. Her attitude towards work, spending quality time with Zachary, and her likeability factor has clearly struck a chord with the voters. She is a wonderful role model for mothers faced with the difficulties of juggling work/life pressures and we at Foxy Bingo congratulate her on her fantastic achievements”

The top ten celebrity mums are as follows:

1. Stacey Solomon

2. Dannii Minogue

3. Holly Willoughby

4. Amanda Holden

5. Katie Price

6. Coleen Nolan

7. Victoria Beckham

8. Kerry Katona

9. Kym Marsh

10. Billie Piper

A short marriage, but a longer divorce?

A short marriage often ends with a longer divorce due to differences of opinion over the financial settlement warns Caroline Bourn, solicitor at Buss Murton Law LLP.

Caroline Bourn comments: “This is highlighted by recent media coverage of Katie Price and Alex Reid’s split as reports claim Alex Reid is seeking a £6million divorce settlement, whilst Katie Price is offering £700,000. Couples can have great difficulty in agreeing what is the right settlement when dealing with a short childless marriage where one person brought into the marriage the majority of the wealth.”

“There is no one size fits all approach to any divorce settlement, as each case will depend on its own individual facts and circumstances.”

“In this case, the starting point of any financial agreement will be to identify the “marital acquest”, or more simply, what was built up during the marriage.”

“For example, in Katie Price and Alex Reid’s case this might include the money from the TV shows or magazine deals they were in together. The marital acquest, once identified, is often shared equally, which then leaves the decision as to what should happen to those assets that were bought into the marriage by one party or were inherited or are business assets, which were the result of one party’s effort.”

“In short marriages, contributions made by either party can prove to be decisive; whilst the longer the marriage lasts, the less weight may be given to those contributions made before a marriage.”

“With a short marriage, there is often not the acceptance that the assets will be divided equally, which is often the case in longer marriages.”

“A contested court case will cost thousands of pounds and could take years to conclude and if Katie Price and Alex Reid wish to avoid this, they would be well advised to find a better way of resolving the finances, such as Collaborative Law. This will mean they have to sit down around the same table with their lawyers and thrash the deal out.”

Caroline concludes: “If either party considers remarrying in the future, they would be well advised to draw up a Pre Nuptial Agreement to protect the wealth they bring to the marriage.”
