Shaped in Mexico

Shaped In Mexico was a Pop Up Art Show that ran for 5 days over last weekend in London and we are hoping they are going to be bringing it back on a regular basis as it was one of the best events we have attended. The talented and Award winning artists, designers and musicians that are either from Mexico or have been inspired by the country all created a plethora of tantalising, exquisite and delightful art. With the origins of Mexican life intertwined within every artistic piece. Fashion is deep rooted in my background being a Fashion design student and personal stylist its easy to see the influences that had filtered through.

Shaped in Mexico-2

Maria Vogel an amazing designer on Mexico’s fashion scene. Her work and amazing attention to detail has won her huge acclaim. Not only are her designs truly incredible but they are also exceptionally well cut. The choice of fabrics really depict the Mexican heritage and style women desire.

She has featured in ELLE MEXICO, VOGUE, GLAMOUR, HARPER’S BAZAAR, and NYLON, among others. She has also been part of Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Mexico many times.

The artists themselves where all either from the stunning country or where inspired by its beauty.

The Pop Up display combined visual arts, music, design, stunning fashion and delicious liquor. Its aim was to bring to like the real Mexico! We think it was a tremendous hit all round.

Then it was time to eat, drink and sample the Mexican night life! A truly amazing evening and we really hope this becomes a regular thing. Even if its just a few times a year we will be putting this in the diary and attending each and every one of them as it was spectacular.

Bubba Gump Comes To London

We where invited to the first UK’s first Bubba Gump restaurant last night and we have to say it was oh so very good! The staff where totally brilliant, very helpful and extremely attentive.

The American novelty fast food chain is best known for taking its inspiration from Forrest Gump and has over 30 restaurants around the world. They have a memorabilia shop on the ground floor for all the kids among us! Get ready for a rather picture packed article as we really needed to do this place justice. Here we go….Are you guys ready for possibly the best new dining experience to hit London in a very long time.

 Bubba Gump-30 Bubba Gump-29 Bubba Gump-28 Bubba Gump-27 Bubba Gump-26 Bubba Gump-25 Bubba Gump-23 Bubba Gump

This quirky themed restaurant has shrimp as the main part of the menu with over 20 different styles to be precise. They do offer fish, steak, chicken, ribs, salads as alternatives for those of you that don’t really like a good old prawn. We indulged in so many different dishes and all had perfect and delectable flavours.

The menu consists of Coconut Shrimp, I’m not normally a huge fan of coconut but by golly was it good. They do Lobster Linguine, Dixie Style Baby Back Ribs. The most mouthwatering chicken that you will ever have. You will never want any other chicken dish anywhere else! No really it’s seriously so good and knocks spots off anywhere we have been in a long time.

We spent the entire evening indulging in shrimp, chicken, chips and dips. I can’t tell you how utterly impressed we where with this amazing place. You need to get ya running shoes on Forest style and head there very soon.

When we were served the huge portion of creamed mash 2 breasts of the best breaded chicken and an entire corn on the cob with perfect chicken gravy I nearly died and went to heaven. I kid you not when I say I have woken up this morning dreaming of my next visit!!

Bubba Gump-19 Bubba Gump Bubba Gump-20

There was also appetisers like Mama Gump’s Garlic Bread Basket. Crab Stuffed Mushrooms and the Shrimper’s Net Catch!! We didn’t see any ‘Peas n Carrots’ sadly but expect they could well rustle some up for you if you had the whim!!

Oh did I mention the puddings…..

Bubba Gump-34 Bubba Gump

With plenty of Forrest Gump references all over the restaurant! It’s a fun foodies place to try out. Pictures, posters, quotes and memorabilia adorn every scrap of space. It’s a sight the behold and such a great night out you will long to watch the film and remember how wonderful life is. Well it’s like a box of chocolates isn’t it but here at Bubba Gump you know what your gona get… Darn amazing food and wicked cocktails that will have you coming back time and time again!!

Backstage With Ashley Isham at London Fashion Week

I got to shoot backstage for Ashley Isham this season. Ashley is one of my all time favourite designers and having worked with him before I knew we where in for an amazing show. Here is what you don’t really see, the real roots of London Fashion Week. The blood sweat and tears…well not the tears as it was incredibly calm and wonderful backstage and the show was mind blowing!

I did manage to get a lovely snap of Ashley and his sister Khaty.

Ashley is delightful, very graceful and highly talented. He started making his own clothes aged 12. A lifetime of devotion, skill and passion has gone into each and every one of his shows, with each one getting better and better. I can truly say this one was something of pure beauty and the ravishing dresses had us holding your hands to our faces and gasping in utter delight.

Backstage was easy going, relaxed and almost spa like. What has happened to the dramatic, rushed hot and bothered fashion week I ounce knew. I Think it has something to do with the organisation from Selina at freelancetheworkspace.com as it was heaven to be part of. Don’t get me wrong there where a few people rushing about here and there trying to find models that where a little late coming from other shows but the cool calmness was apparent and Selina herself is such a wonderful calm person, I believe it has rubbed off!

      A

A wonderful romantic show thats going to be hard to top!!

London Fashion Week: Jamie Wei Huang

The show was the first one of the day for us on Friday. The collection was fun vibrant and had the feel of industrial oversized garments that will be hugely sort after. Strong elements with cool design details and bold silhouettes. Jackets with additions of PVC pockets and fine detailing and edging. Puffball boobtube crop tops and billowing masculine trousers. The entire collection was original and fun. Brilliant use of materials and cutting to represent the modern girl about town. All in all wearable but slightly wacky.

Although one aspect of the show will keep tongues wagging for days…a few of the models where so tiny it created a stir amongst the crowd. Shocked and bewildered faces could be seen no and again. Its such a shame the British fashion council have not regulated this enough. This was the only downside to to show. The collection had many items that can and will fit into the fashion sets wardrobe we are sure.

Oversized bum bags and clutches caught our eyes and are one the wish list for Spring Summer next year.

The Lovely Kimberly Garner sat and watched the show dressed in a cute outfit of a loose black chiffon top, leather shorts and over the knee boots.

The crowd at the show was oh so very stylish and we couldn’t help grab a snap of them as we watched. Apart form these two astonished faces and the concerned looks of most of the people around us….We particularly loved this young ladies hat!

Handbag Must Haves

The conversational clutch

Slogan clutches have become quite a craze, ranging from high-street stores like H&M and Dorothy Perkins to supermarkets like Marks & Spencer.
Well known french phrases such as “Tres Chic”, “Moi?” and “Apres Ski” have made it on to the trendy bags, along with popular slogans mostly seen on T-shirts and jumpers like “Going Out Out”, “Ready To Party” and “Love”.

Tres Chic Going out out
I can’t wait to get my hands on an array of these quirky clutches! Strong in style and a sure way to get yourself noticed for all the right reasons, these brilliant bags are definitely a wardrobe must-have for this season.
They’re a quick and easy way to liven up an outfit that needs that little extra oomph, simply chuck all the essentials into one of these chatty numbers and feel bursting with style as you head out of the door.

Fashion Friday: The Gap Edition

I haven’t done a style post in what feels like forever and with being temporarily away from a computer due to a huge move to London. Yes I am moving closer the the Frost family soon…in less than 2 weeks!! So hopefully you will hear more from me on the fashion front in the future. We have some amazing collaborations with designers coming up combining my Photography and styling. I promise you it will dazzle your eyes and make you yearn for Autumn… Hey less of the teasing and back to todays post.

Anyway I have fallen madly, truly and deeply in love with everything that is Gap. This isn’t a sponsored article its just because they need a huge shout out on the style front. Gone are the days of just branded hoodies and staple jeans. Although I must say those too are rather fab and fit like a glove. I have become a dress girl over the last few months and Gap have got some crackers in store.

Sarah Bacchus Sarah Bacchus The Gap Dress-3 Sarah Bacchus The Gap Dress-4 Sarah Bacchus The Gap Dress-5 Sarah Bacchus The Gap DressThis little number is now in the sale and also comes in a Black and White version, you can check it out here. They both would be great for a late Summer wedding with killer heels, ideal for the office, or worn really casual with a pair of pretty flats on a sunday ramble into town for a coffee.

They have pockets too! We all love dresses with pockets don’t we! Fabulously elegant and perfect for nipping in the waist. They are lined so you can wear them in the cooler months with tights and boots. Add a cute leather jacket or cardigan while the weather changes and a tailored pea coat when the Winter rears its chilly head.

I styled this dress with last seasons Jigsaw wedges, River Island bag, vintage jewellery, New Look rose gold aviator sunglasses and some clip in hair extensions for a bit of glamor.
