Bio: Defying typecasts, Mike Moss is an anomaly in the modern world of manufactured pop. Yet, with his diverse musical roots – from hanging out with his Uncle who toured with Ivor Novello, to the mosh pits of Manchester?s rock clubs, he is also emblematic of a new wave of self-made artists, combining innate musical talent with production and marketing savvy.

Born of his healthy disrespect for musical genres and market-fixations, Cold World Plastic Dream is both multidimensional yet coherent, woven together by Moss?s ear for pop melodies, tight orchestration and heartfelt lyricism.

This first album is the culmination of a year’s work and a steady stream of contributing musicians, including Mikey Wilson (ex-Texas and Dust Junkies drummer). But the voice that emerges is inimitably Moss’s.

From the clarion call of the opening anthem, It’s Time, with its Bowie-esque signature vocal, to the pulsing beats of Emotion Machine, Moss toys with expectations and eschews the mainstream, all the while keeping the album fresh and accessible.

Tracks like Drifter have their genesis in the acoustic sets he played on the NYC club scene. But here, they’re transformed into multi-layered tapestries, their humble folk and blues origins swept up into orchestral layers of strings and vocal harmonies. Similarly, Morning Call is emancipated from its humble country roots with hypnotic military drums, chiming guitars and that soul-searching voice.

Neither is Moss afraid of shifting down a gear, and the album is punctuated with beautifully reflective moments, culminating in Only Lies. a simple piano ballad replete with real world story telling and a swelling vocal finale.

Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher Split. Moore files for divorce.

Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher have announced they are filing for divorce after six years of marriage. The split comes after months of allegations of Kutcher having an extra-marital affair.

Demi Moore announced that she had filed for divorce from her 16 years younger husband. The 49 year old had tried to work at the marriage after Kutcher,33, allegedly cheated on her on their sixth wedding anniversary in September.

Moore said; “It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that I have decided to end my six-year marriage to Ashton.

“As a woman, a mother and a wife there are certain values and vows that I hold sacred, and it is in this spirit that I have chosen to move forward with my life.

“This is a trying time for me and my family, and so I would ask for the same compassion and privacy that you would give to anyone going through a similar situation.”

Kutcher, who took over from Charlie Sheen in Two and A Half Men, soon after responded on Twitter saying, “I will forever cherish the time I spent with Demi. Marriage is one of the most difficult things in the world and unfortunately sometimes they fail. Love and Light, AK.”

Demi Moore was previously married to singer Freddy Moore and Bruce Willis, with whom she has three children. They divorced in 2000.

She began dating Kutcher a few years after breaking up with Willis.

The couple married in September 2005.

Kutcher allegedly had a fling with Texas-born Sara Leal during a weekend of partying in San Diego.

Donkeys Are Drying Up Around Texas

Donkeys Are Drying Up Around Texas

Donkeys, the worst hit by the drought, rescued by the Peaceful Valley Donkey Rescue

MILES, Texas, Over 300 donkeys have been rescued so far this year in Texas as a direct result of the drought. The current drought, the worst in recorded Texas history, has resulted in hay shortages and low water tables. Ranchers are selling off their livestock but have no resources to get rid of their donkeys.

Donkeys, especially in Texas, are overpopulated and hold no financial value. The vast majority of livestock auctions will not allow them to be unloaded and even offered for sale. With no feed and no options, donkeys are being abandoned in record numbers across the state.

Peaceful Valley Donkey Rescue (PVDR) gives all law enforcement agencies priority in the submission of rescue work. Many counties do not have the financial ability to deal with the vast number of donkeys being dumped in their jurisdictions. Most donkeys currently being rescued in Texas are suffering from malnutrition and overgrown hooves.

As a state, Texas accounts for 90% of PVDR’s national rescue resources but contributes less than 5% of PVDR’s donation income.

All donkeys rescued by PVDR are quarantined, vaccinated, de-wormed and microchipped. During the cooler months, all jacks are castrated with the assistance of Texas A&M Veterinary School Students and Faculty.

Peaceful Valley Donkey Rescue was established as a non-profit organization in the year 2000 in Acton, CA by founders Mark and Amy Meyers. The Meyers, along with their staff, have since rescued thousands of donkeys from abuse, neglect, abandonment as well as captured hundreds of wild burros throughout the Western States that were under threat of destruction. The Peaceful Valley Donkey Rescue has rescue and adoption facilities across the United States.
