Kate Moss: I Was Forced To Pose Topless

Kate Moss has told Vanity Fair that she suffered a nervous breakdown after being pushed into posing topless. The model also said she was in tears after being forced to pose topless and that she had no one to look after her apart from when she dated Johnny Depp.

Moss told Vanity Fair magazine that she felt uncomfortable on the shoot with The Face magazine with photographer Corinne Day which made her famous.

I see a 16-year-old now, and to ask her to take her clothes off would feel really weird,’ Moss said.

‘But they were like “If you don’t do it, then we’re not going to book you again”. So I’d lock myself in the toilet and cry and then come out and do it. I never felt very comfortable about it.’

The supermodel said that she suffered mental health problems while working for Calvin Klein in the early 1990s.

‘I had a nervous breakdown when I was 17 or 18, when I had to go and work with Marky Mark and Herb Ritts,’

‘It didn’t feel like me at all. I felt really bad about straddling this buff guy. I didn’t like it. I couldn’t get out of bed for two weeks. I thought I was going to die.’

She went on: ‘It was just anxiety. Nobody takes care of you mentally. There’s a massive pressure to do what you have to do.’

Moss also said that after she broke up with Johnny Depp she ‘cried for years’.

Find haute couture from the finest French wardrobes

UK SHOPPERS FLOCK TO vestiaire collective TO FIND haute couture from the finest French wardrobes

Vestiaire Collective, the pre-owned, luxury, fashion website today celebrates its first six months in the UK by announcing quadruple digit growth in UK members and record sales to UK consumers. The cult French fashion site has grown its base of users in the UK by 1200% since adding English and sterling to the site in March 2012. The site now boasts over 1.2million members and 12.2 million monthly visits globally.

The attraction of previously owned designer labels from the finest French wardrobes has attracted British label hunters who are now spending an average of £300 per shop as they rush to snap up the latest from French luxury brands.  Some of the treasures grabbed by UK shoppers in the past six months include a Yves Saint Laurent bag for £1,000, a Shamballa jewels item for £1500 and a men’s IWC watch for £1,100.

Across the channel, the fashionable French are clearing out the designer items at a rate of 25,000 items per month. In fact initial statistics for October reveal a 20% increase in items submitted for sale since the UK came online in March. It’s not only the fashionable woman on the street clearing her wardrobe, Vestiaire Collective is also home to French and British celebrities who are actively using the site to empty their wardrobes for the upcoming season.

Some of the French ‘bargains’ available today include a Valentino python and sable bag for £4876, about half the original price for the sought after bag. The sale list also includes more than 720 Isabelle Marant shoes, handbags, coats and dresses for up to 70% off. Unlike other pre—owned and vintage fashion sites, Vestiaire Collective checks every item for authenticity, so British shoppers know that what they are buying is absolutely genuine.

“We are seeing a wave of interest and excitement about the contents of French wardrobes from our British community,” says Vestiaire Collective’s UK MD Shannon Edwards. “On average British women are spending 30% more than their French counterparts and whilst we are shopping, the French are selling. We have seen more than 400 brands added to the site which are being snapped up here by women who are used to buying vintage and love that classic French style.”

Vestiaire Collective was founded by French internet entrepreneur, Sébastien Fabre who alongside five co-founders has developed the business by integrating a strong social community with ecommerce. The site gives consumers a platform to share, discuss and review fashion trends, labels, brands and items, yet closely monitors the buying and selling of goods to ensure that each piece is authentic, in excellent condition and is beautifully presented and delivered to the end consumer. The site manages all financial transactions to ensure that the seller has absolute peace of mind with items that often have a very high ticket value.

High Fashion Without The High Prices

It’s hard work trying to stay ahead of fashion trends these days. One minute it’s all about pastels, the next it’s all about prints, and then before you know it, somehow tie-dye has made a comeback.

Aside from running out of space to house your growing fashion collections, the downside in trying to keep up is the undoubted effect it has on your bank account.

But, instead of spending a fortune on buying new item after new item from your favourite stores, there are ways you can still get the high fashion look, without paying the high fashion prices.

How? Well, here a few tips that’ll help to make all of those jumpers, boots and dress a little more affordable:

Customize

Do you ever see an item of clothing in the shops and think, “I could make that?” Well, time to get your needle and thread out!

Customizing any existing clothes is the perfect way to stay ahead of trends. Many new trends are often adaptations of old ones – so dig out any old clothes sitting in the back of your wardrobe, grab some sequins and studs, and you’ll be right on trend for this season!

Check Online For Deals

Searching online through voucher discount sites is one of the easiest ways to save money on new fashion trends.

The Internet plays host to a wide range of voucher discount sites who offer money off a wide range of products and services – and fashion is often one of the easiest category’s to gain money off your favourite stores.

By simply typing in what you’re looking for, for example ‘New Look, Dorothy Perkins or Missguided promo code’ you’ll be able to find you a list of codes that’ll either save you money, reward your spending or even give you money off delivery costs!

Charity Shops

No-one ever seems to shop in charity shops anymore, do they? But I’ve lost count of the amount of times I’ve said to someone “that’s a lovely top, where’s it from?” and heard the reply “ah, just from a charity shop”.

You’ll be surprised what good quality items you can find in charity shops these days, and for a fraction of the price of the high street retail stores, you can’t complain if you find a bargain!

Helping a charity, saving money and looking fashionable all in one go? You can’t complain with that, surely!
