Justin Timberlake fans have flocked to viagogo, the world’s largest ticket marketplace, searching for tickets to see him live, following his storming performance as host of the Capital Summertime Ball yesterday. The actor, singer and husband of Jessica Biel certainly has been growing a large following since his Mickey Mouse Club days.

Fans hoping for a chance to rock their bodies with JT once more this summer have been snapping up tickets to The Wireless Festival.  Demand for the Friday date (12th July), which Timberlake will headline, spiked by 447 per cent overnight for the one day festival. Although tickets are sold out at the box office, they are still available on viagogo’s marketplace.

And with the announcement that he will tour in 2014, ‘Justin Timberlake’ was the most searched term on the viagogo site over the weekend.

viagogo spokesperson Steve Roest comments:  “Justin Timberlake reminded his fans yesterday what a brilliant showman he is, so it’s no wonder they are desperate to snap up a ticket to see him live this summer.  This adds to the anticipation already building for his 2014 tour, the 20/20 Experience, which could give One Direction’s Where We Are tour next year some real competition.”

Can’t sell Cole to Newcastle

With a car crash last week which left her with a bloody nose and her arm in a sling, things are going from bad to worse for Cheryl with tickets to her Newcastle show being ditched in her home town, with some tickets being listed on viagogo, Europe’s largest ticket marketplace,  below face value for just £25.

Despite being born and raised just around the corner from Newcastle’s Metro Radio Arena where she’ll be performing on 16th and 17th October, it appears the Geordie’s are unshore and will not be Calling her Name in the crowd.

Viagogo’s Ed Parkinson said: “It’s seems that the saying is ringing true – you can’t sell Cole to Newcastle.  We’re really surprised to see that even top seats are selling for less than their face value for Cheryl’s upcoming tour dates and anyone looking to bag a last minute bargain could get themselves some amazing seats.”

Little Monsters Warned of fake Lady Gaga Tickets.

Lady Gaga may be stirring up controversy by tweeting that “pop stars don’t eat” but her fans now have even more to worry about.

Ticket marketplace viagogo predicts ticket fraudsters could make £3m from the upcoming Lady Gaga tour

With tickets to Lady Gaga’s tour going on sale today viagogo is estimating that fans could lose £3 million to ticket scams.

Brits are collectively conned out of £30 million* a year by illegitimate websites and auction sites, such as eBay who do not offer customers any guarantee that they will receive their tickets according to research by viagogo2.

viagogo, Europe’s largest online ticket marketplace, is anticipating that the 75,000 tickets for Gaga’s September Manchester and Twickenham dates will sell out in a matter of minutes and desperate fans may turn to illegitimate sites and other unknown sources in an attempt to get their hands on a ticket.

Edward Parkinson, Director of viagogo UK, said: “Lady Gaga is a global superstar and the rush for tickets will be fierce presenting the ideal opportunity for scam artists to take advantage of Gaga mania. Fans need to be extra vigilant when they see a site offering Lady Gaga tickets and should not judge a site by its appearance; they must do their homework before they buy.”

Just four hours after Lady Gaga announced her tour on Tuesday 10 April, viagogo found tickets to the concert already listed on eBay – despite not being available to the general public until the end of the week.

Parkinson continues: “Based on early site traffic, we predict that up to two million fans won’t get a ticket, presenting scammers with a very large payday opportunity.”

FREUD SET TO DRAW IN DA VINCI LEVEL CROWDS

Art loving ‘Exhibitionists’ scramble to get tickets to the next big show in town. Lucian Freud star still burns bright despite his death.

Demand for Lucien Freud’s Portraits exhibition, which opened on 9th February, is set to rival that of Leonardo da Vinci: Painter at the Court of Milan, according to viagogo, Europe’s largest ticket marketplace.

The company selling the tickets, viagogo, is currently experiencing one search per minute for sold out weekend tickets to see the iconic artist’s work. The site also saw a 236 per cent spike in demand for tickets during the Lucien Freud: Painted life BBC documentary on Saturday, which profiled the life of the artist who was still working on his Portraits exhibition until his death last summer.

viagogo has identified a new breed of ‘Exhibitionists’ so desperate to get their hands on tickets to the latest art shows that they are driving demand and prices on ticket marketplaces. The most wanted shows ‘Exhibitionists’ are searching for at the moment include Freud, Hockney and Picasso, with popularity for them rivalling searches for Coldplay, JLS and Ed Sheeran.

Ed Parkinson, Director of viagogo UK said: “da Vinci was a record breaking exhibition based on ticket demand, but the critic’s glowing reviews and the current demand for Freud tickets has arguably cemented the show as next hottest ticket in town for a new breed of art loving ‘Exhibitionists’.”

Viagogo, Europe’s largest secondary ticket marketplace, has revealed its most in demand tickets of 2011 with Rihanna, Katy Perry, Adele and Jessie J storming to the top of the chart.

Dolly Parton proved she’s still got it this year as she made it into the top 20 with huge demand to see her ‘Better Day’ tour, proving more popular than JLS and the Arctic Monkeys.

With female acts leading the voting every week in the X Factor and the first ever girl band, Little Mix, winning this year’s show plus Emile Sande winning the Brits Critics Choice Award, 2012 is set to be the year of the girls as well. Women are even spending more money than men when it comes to tickets to live shows according to recent research by NME. (1)

With Little Mix triumphing in the X Factor, Emile Sande winning the Brits Critics Choice Award, 2012 and Adele hopefully (or looking to be )on the mend, 2012 really could be the year of Girl Power.”
