Rupert Grint Wants To Date The Queen

Rupert Grint has a crush on Queen Elizabeth.

The ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows’ actor – who shot to fame aged 11 playing Ron Weasley in the movie series – admits the monarch would be one of his two ideal women, along with singer-and-actress Juliette Lewis.

Asked which two famous women he would like to date, he said: “I think it would have to be the queen. She is [pretty foxy]. I sat in front of her at her 80th birthday, where we were asked to perform in a play, so that was pretty cool.

“My second choice would be Juliette Lewis, because she’s really cool and in a band.”

One celebrity the 22-year-old star does not find attractive is former ‘Hannah Montana’ actress Miley Cyrus.

He explained: “I’ve never really gone for those Disney girls.”

Rupert has never been in a relationship for longer than a few weeks, but is currently happy to be single.

He told Britain’s Glamour magazine: “I haven’t had any very serious relationships. The longest was probably less than a month. I’ve never had a one-night stand.

“I’m not really looking for anything at the moment. I’m so busy that it’s quite hard to commit.”

While Rupert insists he isn’t looking for love, the flame-haired star admits he has received a lot of attention from girls since starring in the ‘Harry Potter’ films.

He said: “The ginger community embraced me – put it that way.

“Walking down the street, I would get a lot of ‘ginger love’. I still do.”

Kate Middleton grants cancer-sufferer's wish

Duchess Catherine grants cancer-sufferer’s wish

Duchess Catherine has granted a wish to a child suffering from cancer.

The 29-year-old royal – who is currently on an official visit to Canada and the US with husband Prince William – was moved to tears after meeting six-year-old Diamond Marshall at Calgary Airport yesterday.

Diamond, who was diagnosed with an abdominal cyst in February and has undergone chemotherapy and radiotherapy, rushed across the tarmac to meet Kate and flung herself into her arms.

The youngster – currently awaiting surgery – was granted the opportunity to meet the royal couple through the Children’s Wish Foundation of Canada charity, which aims to make the dreams of sick children come true.

Her mother had written to the charity, saying: “We are aware Diamond’s wish is enormous. We also are aware she may not have the chance to go to Disneyland where she wants to lunch with princesses.

“Should the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge just happen to swing by for a visit it would go a long way for helping her spirits as she is in awe of Princess Kate’s fairytale like story.”

Diamond – who was accompanied by her father Lyall and stepmother Danielle – said: “She was as fancy as she looks on the TV.”

Meanwhile, her stepmother Danielle described the experience as “a dream come true” for the little girl.

She added: “She was so lovely and so gracious. For a little girl who has dreamed of meeting a princess it was a dream come true.”

The Inept Girl's Guide To Cooking: Stuffed Peppers

I thought stuffed peppers would be hard, thankfully, I was wrong.

Take 4 peppers, any colour you want, chop the top off and scoop out the insides and clean. Place in a baking try, take some olive oil and drizzle lightly over the peppers. Cook for 20 minutes or until roasted.

While the peppers are cooking take some couscous and put it in a bowl. Add boiling water (the pack will tell you how much, generally 115ml or water per 75ml of couscous) leave for two minutes and it will be cooked! I know, I love couscous, it is so easy and quick.

Now, this is where the fun starts; you can stuff the peppers with whatever you want, I added Tomato, mushroom, onion and mozzarella. Quite simple but it tastes amazing.

While the couscous is cooking peel and chop up some mushrooms, onions and tomatoes. Put in a frying pan with a little oil and start to cook. Add the couscous when it is done. Keep checking on the peppers.

Add the mozzarella to the pan, take the peppers out of the oven and stuff the mixture into them. Put the tops on and then put back not the oven for a further 20 minutes. Cooking times may vary so feel free to adjust.

Take the peppers out of the oven and they are ready to serve. They taste great with the melted mozzarella, I also added some honey roast parsnips, which will be coming up soon in my column. I also added cooked apples on top as an experiment and it went down quite well.

The best things about stuffed peppers is the variety, you can have rice instead of couscous and any vegetable or even meat, so have fun.

Enjoy!

The Tree of Life {Film Review}

Terrence Malick has been a unique filmmaker, always distancing himself from conventions to bring his own artistic license. From his 38 years of being in the industry, he has only made five films. It took him a full 20 years from Days of Heaven (1978) to The Thin Red Line (1998). He is infamous for shooting footage the length of a football field and also not being part of the publicity spot-light. The Tree of Life is his new movie since 2005’s The New World, barely any details were released for the film. Only two posters and a trailer were only shown to various multiplexes. It finally got screened at 2011 Cannes Film Festival, and it was received mixed reactions of boos and applause. I, however, thought it was worth the wait.

The Tree of Life is quite simply a breathtaking experience, a beautifully crafted film that doesn’t really give you straight answers but really makes you think. The film will be, inevitably, be compared to Stanley Kubrick’s 2001: A Space Odyssey but it also reminded me of Koyaanisqatsi. The film deals with questions that the characters imply through-out; what is the meaning of our existance? What is our purpose in life? The story revolves around Jack (Sean Penn), who works as an architect in modern day America. He starts to think back during his childhood during the 50s, with his parents and going through different phases in his life. His parents are played by Brad Pitt and Jessica Chastain, who resemble two things that runs the theme during the duration; nature and grace. Nature is unpredictable and harsh, which Pitt tries at one point make his sons strong and confident. Grace is the complete opposite, it is elegant and calm as Chastain becomes supportive to her sons. Young Jack (Hunter McCracken) is very conflicted from the two, he leans towards nature but as an adult, he starts to feel more empathetic (shown through his sub-conscious walking through a desert and eventually ends up in a beach)

The performances from the entire cast is superb. They are barely given any dialogue, but their natural reactions and expressions are subtle. It is the meaning of the phrase; show, don’t tell. McCracken impresses as the Young Jack, showing the childhood curiosity and frustration everyone deals with. Such as a scene where he walks with his mother in town and notices police officers taking convicts away in their patrol cars. Looks up to his mother and asks in a worried tone if he’ll ever be like them? Sean Penn doesn’t get as much screen-time but he makes a presence when he’s thinking about his childhood experiences.

The film has a non-linear narrative, often cutting away from Jack’s story to shots of the formation of the universe and how the planets are created. Then it views when the dinosaurs roamed the Earth, continuing Malick’s trademark on showing nature as a major element. All of these sequences are shot beautifully. Legendary special photographic effects supervisor Douglas Trumbull (who was responsible for the effects in 2001 and Blade Runner), was a consultant on the effects of this film. The effects in this film look organic and believable, a film to be big in scale requires believability (especially when dealing with a theme about creation and existence) The scenes with Jack’s family comes across as a family home movie, a sense of nostalgic memorabilia.

There is not much I want to say to reveal too much of the film, it really is something to see to believe. To put simply; if you are fan of Terrence Malick or want a film that has a deep message that is subtle, there is no excuse not to miss this film.

Overall; The film may divide opinions; some may find it pretentious, others may find it as a work of art. I, however, find it to be a meditating and philosophical film that is just as beautiful to watch. A huge change from the summer blockbuster season and strongly recommended.

Our Family Wedding Review & Competition.

Frost is doing a competition to win one of three copies of wedding comedy Our Family Wedding, starring America Ferrara and Forest Whittaker. All you have to do is go to the homepage and subscribe.

Our Family Wedding is very funny, I wasn’t sure what to expect from the cover and didn’t know anything about it. However, I am a huge fan of Forest Whittaker and America Ferrara. I wasn’t disappointed in the film. It is a well scripted, well acted movie built around a funny premise. I laughed all the way through the not PC at all film. With all of the weddings happening at the moment (Kate’s Moss and Middleton to name just two) makes it also timely.

Check out the trailer below.

Why the Economy Could Take Another Downturn—and What the Average Investor Can Do To Protect Themselves

Why the Economy Could Take Another Downturn—and What the Average Investor Can Do To Protect Themselves

The following article was written by Daniel A. White, CLU, ChFC , President, Daniel A. White & Associates:

To the casual observer, the economic headlines look promising. To be fair, there are a few positive indicators. Unemployment figures are gradually improving, retail sales are on the upswing, corporate profits are up and consumer confidence is surging. Unfortunately, the reality is much more complicated. To many financial advisors and investment professionals–myself included at Dan White and Associates–there are reasons to be cautious. A closer look at historical comparisons and advanced metrics behind the rosy headlines reveal cause for concern.

Trouble looming?

One of the biggest underlying reasons I suspect we might be headed for another 2008-type bubble in the not-too-distant future—is my skepticism regarding the pace of the current recovery and the factors driving it. Standard and Poor’s (S&P) earnings are on pace to hit $91/share by August; up nearly 13 fold from the March of 2009 lows of $7/share and surpassing the all-time high of $90/share in the 3rd quarter of 2007. There is nothing wrong with profits, but why are we seeing those profits?

The short answer is pretty simple: the government is printing more money as part of a strategy called Quantitative Easing (QE2); monetizing the national debt by purchasing securities and turning government bonds into circulating money.

So what happens when the government turns off the spigot? We can get a pretty good idea by looking at other government incentive programs. Whether it was a home-buying tax credit or a “Cash for Clunkers” promotion, the markets dropped off sharply when programs ended. It’s also worth noting that after the last round of Quantitative Easing–in the months after April 2010–the market plunged.

PE ratios and commodity oddities

Since QE2 began last August, the price of Silver is up 70%, crude oil and coal are up close to 40%, and a number of other commodities are up sharply. And when you see the U.S. Dollar down 10.6% at the same time, that’s a recipe for trouble.

Perhaps most concerning, is the historical pattern of the price to earnings (P/E) ratio and what it means to investors. When you get in the market at a low P/E ratio, things tend to work out well, and when you get in when the P/E ratio is high, that doesn’t bode well. The current S&P 500 P/E 10–is at about 24. It has only been at 24 a handful of other times in history.

What can you do?.

* Be conservative. Investing in healthy companies with large cash reserves is fairly safe, but commodities and other risky assets are a bad idea.
* Plan ahead, be cautious and don’t get overextended. The first sign of trouble is likely to be short-term interest rates starting to tick up. If you see that happening, reduce your exposure.
* If you are retired or almost retired, all of this is particularly relevant. Be extremely vigilant and pay close attention to the subtleties of the marketplace.
