Cheltenham Festival Announces Preview Evening

Cheltenham Festival announces preview evening

Horse racing fans are set to gather in their droves next year to attend a special preview evening in honour of the upcoming Cheltenham Festival. The event will take place at the Elland Road Football Stadium in Leeds on 4th March 2015, six days before the festivities begin at Cheltenham Racecourse.

Last year’s event was the first of its kind for the 155-year-old festival, but went down a huge success with more than 700 in attendance. The evening was attended by a panel of horse racing pundits including world class jockey Jason Maguire, Sky Sports news expert Alex Hammond and Racing UK’s Mark Howard, Donn McClean and Niall Hannity.

“The preview evening this March was a huge success and all parties were very keen to get the date in the diary again,” said Sky Bet Racing PR Manager Michael Shinners. “We’ll be confirming the panel in the build-up but it will be another great night for any racing fan, or someone who likes a bet at the Cheltenham Festival.”

Indeed, the betting element of the evening will be one of its biggest attractions – with more than £250 million expected to be spent at this year’s Cheltenham Festival. Added to that, the evening will also feature an extensive preview of each day of racing at the three-day festival, as well as video interviews with racing trainers and a buffet supper.

Having taken place since 1860, the Cheltenham Festival brings together some of the most prestigious racers from around the world, culminating in the famed Cheltenham Gold Cup race, which takes place next year on 13th March. Friday 13th may be unlucky for some, but for the winning jockey, there is a huge £550,000 prize at stake.

One jockey who will be gunning for the prize is Ruby Walsh, who has had outstanding success at the events in previous years. This famed star has won the coveted ‘top jockey’ prize – one which is awarded to the jockey with the most wins over the course of the festival – eight times in the last century.

Other exciting moments that spectators will be keen to keep an eye out for will be the performance of Balthazar King, as trained by PJ Hobbs. The 10-year-old Bay Gelding is already hitting headlines with his upcoming performance at the Cheltenham Open, and given his experience at the course in Prestbury Park, should impress once again in March.

The Cheltenham Festival may be five months away, but with a preview evening to get fans even more excited, the 155th anniversary could just be the best festival yet.

Wedding Shoes | The Wedding Diary

So I have bought my wedding shoes. It was pretty hard not to put that in capital letters, that’s how excited I am. Well, to be more precise, I have two pairs of wedding shoes. One high and the other (ahem) less high. I completely love the flat shoe trend and wear them all the time, just not on my wedding day. Especially as my husband-to-be is 6.3′. It would be nice to meet his eye on our wedding day.

When I first thought about buying my wedding shoes I was going to buy something quite traditional, a silver, gold or white high-heeled sandal or shoe. In the end I went for colour. A very bright pair of high heels, but comfortable high heels. Yes, there is such a thing. They are peep-toed and after the wedding I will post lots of pictures of them. In the meantime I will post pictures of my evening shoes. They are wedges with a little heel so should be good for dancing the night away. They are a cruise shoe from Hotter and are so comfortable. Far too comfortable for something so stylish. They have built-in underfoot cushioning, soft leather inners and a flexible sole.

WEDDINGSHOECheck out the floral lining!

With wedding shoes you want ‘wow’ and comfort. Something that makes a statement, that won’t cause a lot of pain and that also makes the dress perfect. It is possible that no one will see your shoes, but you will know you are wearing amazing shoes. You could also get some pictures of them taken by the photographer.

I have sourced some amazing wedding shoes in this article so take a look. And remember, you can wear any shoes to your wedding, you don’t need specific wedding shoes, in fact, you will probably save more money if you keep away from the ‘w’ word.

Let me know what you think.

An Evening With Sylvester Stallone

AN EVENING WITH SYLVESTER STALLONE IN LONDON Hollywood’s much-loved action hero Sylvester Stallone is set to enthrall, enlighten and entertain the UK at a unique ‘An Evening With’ event at London’s iconic Central Hall, Westminster on Saturday, 11th January 2014. This un-missable event is an once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see one of the world’s biggest stars in the grandiose setting of Central Hall, Westminster. The event is presented by leading entertainment impresario and event organiser Rocco Buonvino and entrepreneur Joe Ricotta, in association with film producer and founder of entertainment company Sterling 2 Ent Teji Singh.

Sylvester Stallone, who is famed for his roles in such cult classics as Rocky, Rambo, Demolition Man and The Expendables, will treat the audience to an intimate evening of anecdotes about his illustrious career, private insights from his life as one of the world’s most admired screen idols as well as partaking in a special question and answer session with audience members.

Sylvester Stallone rose to worldwide recognition as an actor, writer and director since he played the title role in his own screenplay of Rocky, which won the Academy Award for Best Picture and was nominated for a staggering 10 Oscars. Rocky grew to a franchise of five sequels and in 2006 Stallone concluded the series with Rocky Balboa, a critical and audience success which resolutely confirmed both Stallone and Rocky as iconic cultural symbols. In more recent times, Stallone wrote, directed and starred in Rambo, which continued the saga of Vietnam vet John Rambo 25 years after the debut of Rambo: First Blood.

Stallone then released his most ambitious project, the action thriller The Expendables, which he wrote, directed and starred in, and for which he hired an all star action cast including Jason Statham, Mickey Rourke, Jet Li, Eric Roberts, Dolph Lungren and Steve Austin – as well as Bruce Willis and Arnold Schwarzenegger. It opened to Number One at the Box Office – making Stallone the only actor in Hollywood history to open a Number One film across five decades.

Seen as one of Hollywood’s most iconic stars, Sylvester Stallone will be seen at Christmas 2013 starring in Grudge Match with Robert DeNiro. In March, 2014, Rocky the Musical will open at The Winter Garden on Broadway. How To Be Your Own Boss – Innocent Inspires Event

On the 24th July Frost went to an amazing event all about entrepreneurialism, as part of the Innocent Inspires series at Fruit Towers.

The entrepreneurs speaking at the event were Innocent co-founder Richard Reed, luxury jewellery brand Astley Clarke founder Bec Astley Clarke, creator of not-for profit computer charity, Raspberry Pi, Eben Upton, not on the high street.com founders Holly Tucker & Sophie Cornish and founder of global peace charity Peace One Day Jeremy Gilley.

We arrived and grabbed an Innocent mocktail from the Innocent van and then mingled. The talks were brilliant. A particular favourite was Jeremy Gilley who is the founder of Peace One Day, which is on the 21st of September. Keep it in mind and spread the word. If the world need anything it is an International day of peace.

Richard Reed was as concise, smart and inspirational as ever, Bec Astley Clarke started a business and had a baby at the same time, which actually makes her superwoman, Sophie Cornish gave great advice and Eben Upton was not only great, but we also had a good chat with him after and he told us that someone took his Raspberry Pi (which he throws into the crowd during his speech)  in Iceland, but because the country is so small he mentioned it to one of the organisers and got it back from a sheepish teenager who went to his hotel and apologised.

We had a great night and we learned a lot. During the break we had some great food from the Scandinavian Kitchen and we also took away a goody bag full of stuff made by people who used to work for Innocent. That is the great thing about Innocent; they are creative and great businesspeople, and they are also ethical and moral. You can’t ask for more. Head to an Innocent Inspires event soon.

What Innocent have to say about Innocent Inspires:

When we started innocent 14 years ago, it was with the aim of doing business in a truly good way – to make products
that taste good, that do you good, and to do good in the wider world too.  It hasn’t always been easy, but having a set of
clear and simple values has helped shape the business we’ve become.

innocent inspires is a series of one-off events where people will discuss, debate and be inspired by the values we
believe in with the help of a group of interesting people who do brilliant things every day.

Whether the focus is on health, ethics, entrepreneurship, taste or creativity, we’ll share everything from inspirational
tales to tips on the little things you can do to help make the world a little bit better today.

Curated by innocent, each event will be fully immersive, so there won’t be boring lectures or numb bums, instead expect
laughing, smelling, listening, tasting, jogging, drawing, thinking and, above all, lots of inspiration.  There’ll probably be the
odd smoothie in there too.
