One Direction: This Is Us DVD Released

One Direction, This is us, music, dvd, Follow international pop sensation One Direction from their humble hometown beginnings to the global phenomenon in ONE DIRECTION: THIS IS US, arriving in an “Ultimate Fan Edition” coming to Blu-ray3D, Blu-rayand DVD with UltraViolet December 19th from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment.  Also available in 3D format, the special edition Blu-ray release features both original theatrical and extended fan cuts of the feature film.  The extended cut includes 20 minutes of new footage and four additional songs for fans to treasure.

 

As MTV’s 2012 Artist of the Year, Academy Award nominated director Morgan Spurlock (Best Documentary, Super Size Me, 2004) and producer Simon Cowell (TV’s “The X Factor”) give fans a captivating and intimate, all-access look at the journey of One Direction, chronicling the group’s almost immediate rise to superstardom. Never-before-seen footage from the “Ultimate Fan Edition” includes three exclusive featurettes with behind-the-scenes footage of Niall, Zayn, Liam, Harry and Louis having fun at a radio station in Japan and paying a visit to Madame Tussauds™ wax museum to experience their own sculptures being created.  This edition will also feature “Up All Night” – two mini movies previously only seen at the live concert.  ONE DIRECTION: THIS IS US comes with extended scenes and seven featurettes where fans will have the opportunity to go backstage with the group as they prepare for one of their biggest performances of the year and follow them on visits back to their hometowns with the cameras rolling. Also included is the Music Video for fan-favourite “Best Song Ever”, the lead single from the group’s new album Midnight Memories, released globally on November 25th.

ONE DIRECTION: THIS IS US will also be available on single-disc DVD featuring the original theatrical version of the film along with select featurettes from the “Ultimate Fan Edition.”

‘Re:Define’, The MTV Staying Alive Foundation’s Aids Benefit Art Exhibition And Auction, Returns To Dallas

The MTV Staying Alive Foundation has today announced that its flagship RE:DEFINE benefit art exhibition and auction will return to Dallas in 2012.

Hosted at The Goss-Michael Foundation and chaired by Jessica Olsson and Anna-Sophia Van Zweden, the free public exhibition will launch on Thursday 13th September 2012, culminating in the VIP gala auction on the evening of Saturday 22nd September 2012. All money raised will go towards the Foundation’s work empowering young people engaged in fighting the stigma, spread and threat of the HIV and AIDS epidemic through inspiring grantee projects around the world.

Debuting in September 2011 to mark the 30th anniversary of AIDS, the sold-out VIP event raised over $700,000 for the charity, with original works of art from 30 prominent international artists including Damien Hirst, Tracey Emin, Harland Miller and Shepard Fairey, as well as an electrifying live performance from The Boxer Rebellion.

Curated once again by The Future Tense, confirmed artists for 2012 include Michael Craig-Martin, Gérard Rancinan, Ryan McGinness, Ralf Kaspers, Jim Houser, Mat Collishaw, Ryan Gander, Charming Baker, Tomokazu Matsuyama, Chuck Elliott, James Hugonin and Jen Stark.

The accompanying silent auction features exclusive luxury packages including a bespoke furniture piece from 2011 Designer of the Year award winner, Lee Broom, a VIP package to the launch of Stella McCartney’s new collection in New York, a unique series of art-inspired jewellery by Royal Asscher and a private concert orchestrated by Musical America’s ‘Conductor of the Year 2012’, Jaap Van Zweden.

In keeping with the inclusive nature of the event, the free public exhibition will include curator tours, previews and artist talks, and a major public art installation in Dallas by emerging British artist, Lee Baker. The VIP gala reception will feature an auction of key lots led by Phillips de Pury chairman, Simon de Pury, a painting performance by artist Dave White and an exciting live music act. The single ‘Empire‘, released June 11th, and the video was directed by award-winning avantgarde and art-house director Luke Losey, notable for his work with Orbital and Mercury Rev among others (including the MTV Awards nominated video for Orbital’s ‘The Box’).

Beyonce Reveals Pregnancy At MTV Awards

She has been a workaholic superstar, entertaining the world since her teens, but now Beyonce has entered another phase in her life –  becoming a mother. Beyonce and her husband, rapper Jay-Z, are to become parents for the first time.

Beyonce revealed she was pregnant at the MTV Video Music Awards in Los Angeles where the former Destiny’s Child singer flaunted her growing baby bump. Beyonce performed her song “Love On Top” at the awards, telling the audience to stand up and said: “I want you to feel the love that’s growing inside of me.”

When the song finished, she took off her jacket, smiled broadly and rubbed her tummy.

Jay-Z was congratulated by Kanye West who were both in the audience and he gave Beyoncé a big wave.

On Wednesday, April 13, Taylor Lautner will exclusively sit down with MTV News’ Josh Horowitz to premiere the first footage ever seen from his upcoming film ABDUCTION during “MTV First: Taylor Lautner.”

Beginning at 7:56pm ET on MTV and MTV.com, Taylor will introduce the never-before-seen trailer. Immediately following the on-air premiere, Taylor will stay on for a 30-minute interview with Josh on MTV.com where he will answer questions about his role in the film and much more. ABDUCTION is a thriller that focuses on a youth (Lautner) who discovers the parents who raised him aren’t his real parents, a revelation that triggers events and leaves him running for his life.

In addition to Lautner, ABDUCTION stars Lily Collins, Alfred Molina, Jason Issacs, Maria Bello, Denzel Whitaker, Michael Nyqvist and Sigourney Weaver. The film is directed by John Singleton and written by Shawn Christensen.
