Trinny and Susannah Are Back

-New fashion range launches on QVC-

For over 15 years, leading style gurus Trinny and Susannah have been dressing British women and advising them on “what not to wear” with numerous televised make-overs, to ensure women make the most of their assets. Now, the fashion advisors-turned-designers have been inspired to use their expertise to create their first full clothing range, launching exclusively on QVC this autumn, to cater for women of all sizes and help them feel and look fabulous by what they wear.

The collection focuses on dressing women who are top heavy, bottom heavy or wish to minimise their tummies and features dresses designed to flatter and compliment each of these body types. Jackets also form a strong part of the collection, tailored to create shape and structure for the wearer, resulting in a beautiful female silhouette.

Prices range from £48 to £150. Trinny and Susannah will launch their new collection on QVC on Sunday 19th August using real QVC customers to model the range reminding viewers that this is a range made specifically with them in mind and highlighting the benefits of this carefully designed collection.

Trinny and Susannah love to make women feel better about themselves through the medium of the Make-Over. They teach women to learn to love themselves again from the outside in, to look better and feel empowered.

Trinny Woodall said, “We are delighted to be working with QVC, who have given us the opportunity to bring our Body Shape philosophy to this range.”

The Best Tights For Autumn

I am a huge fan of tights and stockings. They can instantly update a look. I have picked out some of my favourites from MyTights.com and reviewed them. I modeled them myself so you can see what they look like on a normal women. Here goes….

Pamela Mann Sheer Dotty Tights

Pretty tights with a dainty spotted design to suit every age and every style.

These are very timeless. Dotty tights have always been popular. I love this pair. They are really comfortable, elegant and luxurious.

Spanx High Waisted Tight End Tights

These high waisted opaque tights will shape your bottom and midriff for a slimline silhouette. All of my actor friends kept telling me about Spanx, so I decided to try them. I heard that Spanx were really uncomfortable, but to be honest, once I got them on I was fine. As long as you get them in the right size they are great. It’s a myth that they make you a lot thinner, but they really do smooth you out. These tights are perfect if you have any too tight clothes. The slip on afterward. I liked what they did to my silhouette.

These 40 denier Argyle Backseam Tights by Mary Portas and Charnos feature argyle diamonds on the back of the leg – a subtle way to get in on the trend for heritage patterns. I LOVE these tights. They have a subtle Argyle backseam. I got loads of complements when I wore them. They are really quirky and fun. Exactly what you would expect from Mary Portas. Comfy too. Check out the Indigo ones. Gorgeous. With their dainty opaque polka dots from toe to waist, these Sheer Spot Tights by Mary Portas and Charnos will get you in line with one of this season’s most wearable trends. More dots! This time in silver, and the black pair with dots that are less subtle. Beautiful, cool tights. They get my stamp of approval.

What tights will you be wearing this autumn?

You can’t go wrong with a red dress. So beautiful.

Brightly coloured jeans and trousers are huge this summer. This is a trend that is not going away.

This dress is beautiful. Perfect casual wear.

This dress is perfect for a summer evening. It is quite fashion-forward but very elegant.

Vivienne Westwood designs dress for the London 2012 Closing Ceremony

The London 2012 Olympic Games Closing Ceremony took place last night with an explosion of culture, music and fashion. The catwalk show curated by Vogue UK, presented 8 of Britain’s supermodels all wearing creations by the best of British fashion designers.

Vivienne Westwood, who is also part of the UK governments ‘The GREAT campaign’, created a couture ball gown elegantly modelled by international super model Lily Donaldson. The Vivienne Westwood ‘Olympic Court dress’ was especially created for the ceremony in gold hammered sequins embroidered with gold metallic thread on stiff organza tulle in an abstract baroque pattern detail and was inspired by 17th Century English Royalty and the court of King Charles II.

The ‘Court’ dress was originally designed for the Vivienne Westwood Gold Label Autumn- Winter 2012/13 collection and is Vivienne’s favourite dress:

‘The corset is based on a 17th Century style corset but is oversized at the neckline which modernises it and shows the décolletage beautifully- I call this style the Stature of Liberty corset. I love the way the gold lace is transparent at the bottom. Lily looks incredible in the dress. She is a fantastic person and follows my environmental initiatives and has been involved in my campaign to fundraise for rainforest charity Cool Earth.’

Jessie J wears Vivienne Westwood for the London 2012 Closing Ceremony

The London 2012 Closing Ceremony took place last night with an explosion of culture, music and fashion. Among the musicians that performed was Jessie J, one of the most talked about British artists of the past year. For her 2 performances of the night Jessie chose to wear two couture creations by the renowned British fashion designer, Vivienne Westwood.

The first look saw Jessie wearing a nude bodysuit with hand embroidered flower detailing taken from a Vivienne Westwood Gold Label archive collection entitled ‘World Wide Women’. In the words of Vivienne Westwood:

‘Fashion is global, influence comes from everywhere in the world. But don’t let the world get smaller: World Wide Woman cultivates her values for the sake of our planet and all who live on her.’

For the second outfit Jessie chose to wear an asymmetric catsuit with nude holofoil sequins embroidered with gold metallic thread. The catsuit was taken from the Vivienne Westwood Gold Label Autumn- Winter 2012/ 13 collection that was inspired by 17th Century London, a century of change and drama.

Kate Middleton Tops Vanity Fair Best Dressed List

Kate Middleton has Topped Vanity Fairs Best Dressed List again. Katie Nicholl has also written an in-depth story on the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. According to Vanity Fair.

“There’s a happiness in the House of Windsor generally at the moment for the first time ever,” a royal pal tells Vanity Fair contributor Katie Nicholl in the September issue. “Charles and Camilla are genuinely happy. William is happy because Charles is troubled less, and he has Kate to share his future with,” the friend adds. And while the pair have dazzled Britain and Olympic watchers the globe over with their Games-related appearances—Kate’s fashionable turn in Christopher Kane at the opening ceremony only confirms her status atop the 2012 International Best-Dressed List—they innately prefer a life out of the spotlight, one categorized by homey activities like cooking and walking puppy Lupo three times per day. Nicholl gets their friends and those in their orbit talking for a those in their orbit talking for a blockbuster piece on Kate’s married life—revealing, among many other details, that:

Despite their lean physiques thanks to deerstalking, tennis, and Buckingham Palace swims, Will and Kate are foodies, and tuck in regularly to homemade roast chicken (Kate does the cooking and shopping, and employs no cook at their home on the Welsh island of Anglesey). They also own a sausage-maker (!) to make their own links, and for the holidays, Kate puts away jars of homemade strawberry jam and plum preserves to dole out as gifts. On the average day off, the pair just potter around, “making tea and toast,” per a family friend who recently swung by to find them living a simple home life on Anglesey.

They splash out for DVD box sets. Right now, the royal couple are obsessed with The Killing, which they recently devoured in a marathon session—and they often stay in to binge on various new series rather than hit up society events.

The duchess’s schedule requires up to five clothing changes per day. The rigorous outfit swapping attendant to royal protocol is said to stress out the duchess—not that the stress shows.

And even though the bill for her couture and jewels was printed in the tabloids with raised eyebrows earlier this year—$55,000 for six months of duties—Kate defrays the cost by bargain-shopping. The duchess also continues to decline the services of a royal dresser, preferring to personally shop for herself at chains like Topshop.

Malibu Limited Edition | Cool things

Frost Magazine love the design for this limited edition Malibu.

Inspired by the vibrancy and feeling of summertime, this season will see the launch of the Limited Edition Summer ’12 bottle by the original coconut rum, Malibu.

Following the success of their first limited edition bottle in 2011, Malibu have continued to show their support to up and coming British designers by collaborating with acclaimed illustrator Sophie Harris-Greenslade. Hot off the catwalk, the bold, bright and beautiful techno-colour inspired print is this summer’s ultimate fashion statement, and this limited edition bottle is no exception. This impactful design is a one of a kind collectible which will be available in all major supermarkets from 1st July 2012.

After graduating from Kingston University with a degree in illustration and animation, Sophie Harris-Greenslade has worked on a variety of style shoots including French Elle, Now, W magazine, Disorder and Stylist and worked with numerous celebrity clientele including M.I.A., Cate Blanchett, Nicole Scherzinger and Keisha Buchanan. Sophie has also achieved great acclaim via exhibitions, which have earned her recognition in top publications such as i-D, Stylist, the Guardian and the Observer, as well as her regularly updated blog.

Sophie Harris-Greenslade says, “I wanted to create a vibrant and impactful design which captures the feeling of summer and stands out on the shelf! Outfits to see you through from day to night

Daisy Darche provides professional women with stylish solutions for both work and play

As the mercury rises, social calendars fill and the urge to share fun times with friends and colleagues increases. With London 2012 Olympics fast approaching, this year will be no exception. The Daisy Darche summer collection includes stunning pieces that can transform a look from day-wear to evening- wear as quickly as an ice cold glass of wine can be ordered – making this British label the perfect summer pick!

The Daisy Darche line has been designed to suit all shapes and sizes but versatility is the true key to the collection. Many of the garments can be worn in more than one way; cleverly creating multiple looks from just one piece. Professional women can now go out, straight from work and feel fabulous.

Daisy Darche recommend the following pieces to take you from the boardroom to the bar:

Livia Dress, £555

When coupled with a sharp blazer, this maxi dress can be worn to the office with the knot at the front. In the evening it can be transformed by simply turning the dress around to reveal a sexy plunging V-neckline.

Gaudi Jacket, £495

A Daisy Darche favourite, this reversible jacket can be worn long or short. Start the day with the jacket long and flowing over a black shift dress but leave work with the short version and killer heels for summer evening fun.

Lola Dress, £495

Maxi dresses deserve a place in all summer wardrobes and this draped version is elegant enough for the office. Reverse the dress for an alternative neckline and to change the positioning of its subtle split.

Opera G Shawl, £185

During the day this shawl can be worn loosely over a suit. For a chic evening look just tie it in a knot and twist to the side.

Daisy Darche is available exclusively from Liberty of London, liberty.co.uk, selected independent boutiques worldwide and the label’s online store – daisydarche.com.
