Douvall’s Argan Oil Gift Set | Christmas Gift Ideas

Gifts from Harrods are the ultimate decadence, and this gorgeous and stylish Douvall’s Argan Oil Gift Set from Urban Retreat at Harrods is affordable luxury for someone you really love. And I mean really love. Don’t be scared of keeping for yourself, it is that type of present.

argan gift set, christmas

Upon trying the Douvall’s Limited Edition Christmas Gift-Set I was impressed at how my skin looked after. I am a fan of face oil anyway, massaging it in and using the muslim cloth to take if off after really leaves the skin exfoliated and clean. Something about the massage and the face oil really has an effect on wrinkles and skin tone. The organic argan oil moisturiser is not only light enough to use on the face but can also be used on the body, on split ends, cuticles and in the bath. I love both of them, they are products that really work.

The limited edition set includes 50ml of Douvall’s best-selling Organic Argan Oil Moisturiser, which protects the face, body, hair and cuticles whilst minimising the appearance of fine lines, and 150ml of Douvall’s All-in-One Argan Oil Cleanser, enriched with natural almond, safflower seed and grape seed oil which leaves the skin smooth, dry and moisture balanced.

The house (first established in 1965) opened a store on Mount Street earlier this year with a dedicated bridal salon that will be brought to life as part of the Atelier.

Diamond master craftsmen, engravers and gemologists from iconic jeweller, Tiffany & Co will be demonstrating their skills in a pop-up version of their New York emporium alongside archival pieces, including a diamond brooch given to Elizabeth Taylor by Richard Burton.

Guests will discover interactive master classes and workshops with some of the world’s most coveted luxury brands and designers. There will be a stunning parade of gowns throughout the event from world class designers including Vera Wang, Monique Lhuillier, Johanna Johnson, Valentino, Peter Langner and Marchesa in association with Browns Bride, as well as access to the experts from Alice Temperley and Roland Mouret, who will showcase their collection designed for the thoroughly modern, fashion conscious bride. How To Be Your Own Boss – Innocent Inspires Event

On the 24th July Frost went to an amazing event all about entrepreneurialism, as part of the Innocent Inspires series at Fruit Towers.

The entrepreneurs speaking at the event were Innocent co-founder Richard Reed, luxury jewellery brand Astley Clarke founder Bec Astley Clarke, creator of not-for profit computer charity, Raspberry Pi, Eben Upton, not on the high street.com founders Holly Tucker & Sophie Cornish and founder of global peace charity Peace One Day Jeremy Gilley.

We arrived and grabbed an Innocent mocktail from the Innocent van and then mingled. The talks were brilliant. A particular favourite was Jeremy Gilley who is the founder of Peace One Day, which is on the 21st of September. Keep it in mind and spread the word. If the world need anything it is an International day of peace.

Richard Reed was as concise, smart and inspirational as ever, Bec Astley Clarke started a business and had a baby at the same time, which actually makes her superwoman, Sophie Cornish gave great advice and Eben Upton was not only great, but we also had a good chat with him after and he told us that someone took his Raspberry Pi (which he throws into the crowd during his speech)  in Iceland, but because the country is so small he mentioned it to one of the organisers and got it back from a sheepish teenager who went to his hotel and apologised.

We had a great night and we learned a lot. During the break we had some great food from the Scandinavian Kitchen and we also took away a goody bag full of stuff made by people who used to work for Innocent. That is the great thing about Innocent; they are creative and great businesspeople, and they are also ethical and moral. You can’t ask for more. Head to an Innocent Inspires event soon.

What Innocent have to say about Innocent Inspires:

When we started innocent 14 years ago, it was with the aim of doing business in a truly good way – to make products
that taste good, that do you good, and to do good in the wider world too.  It hasn’t always been easy, but having a set of
clear and simple values has helped shape the business we’ve become.

innocent inspires is a series of one-off events where people will discuss, debate and be inspired by the values we
believe in with the help of a group of interesting people who do brilliant things every day.

Whether the focus is on health, ethics, entrepreneurship, taste or creativity, we’ll share everything from inspirational
tales to tips on the little things you can do to help make the world a little bit better today.

Curated by innocent, each event will be fully immersive, so there won’t be boring lectures or numb bums, instead expect
laughing, smelling, listening, tasting, jogging, drawing, thinking and, above all, lots of inspiration.  There’ll probably be the
odd smoothie in there too.

Calvin Klein Delicious Luxury Creme Lipstick Review

Calvin Klein Delicious Luxury Creme Lipstick in Cosmopolitan.

IMG_3470I must confess that the colour of this lipstick was a bit challenging. I see women wearing bright lipstick all the time and feel a tug of envy. It just looks so fabulous on them. I usually wear nude lipstick. My problem with bright lipstick is that I have a big mouth – no jokes please. At school I was made fun of because of my big lips. Of course now I see them as a plus. I get compliments on them a lot. But I always thought that wearing bright lipstick made them look too big and was just too much of a hassle. Which just goes to show how much I don’t know.

The lipstick looks amazing on. Although my boyfriend has reservations, ‘Jeez, that’s bright. It really doesn’t suit you.” he says. Thanks for that! I persevere anyway.

IMG_3453

I like how the lipstick brightens up my face. I like the colour, it is beautiful. The lipstick is good quality, as you would expect from Calvin Klein. It stays on my face all day and it does not dry my lips out. I get a lot of compliments and even my boyfriend comes around to it.

So am I converted? Completely. I will be brightening up my make up look, and as for the Calvin Klein lipstick, it is a piece of luxury at a completely reasonable price, and an excellent lipstick to boot.

Available from Fragrance Direct and Debenhams.

So Rad Boutique Interview | Fashion

So Rad Boutique has developed a line of eco hip, luxury clothing for babies and toddlers. After the birth of her son, founder Jasmine Bashaj combined her background in digital illustration and a successful line of greeting cards into an affordable clothing line for babies and toddlers using luxury bamboo fabrics. Frost interviewed Jasmine to find out more. collage_fin_web

Tell us about your brand

So Rad makes bebe & toddler apparel the is eco friendly, modern and affordable. Bamboo and
organic cotton fabrics, made in Canada – from start to finish. Not your average kind of stuff
either! Creative, functional and simple designs by a Mummy.

Catering to the layette newbie crowd, the crawlers & walkers and now for the little big kids with
sizes up to 6X.

How did you get it started?

I was inspired by my own kids. There are so many choices out there for Mummy and Daddy to
choose from and I wanted to narrow it down. I took elements I liked from different pieces and
put them together to make 1 piece. I started because I thought other Mum’s could also benefit
from my creations. I talked to other clothing manufacturers – small guys, talked to people in the
industry, suppliers. Emailed all over the world to compare products, prices. Weighed all of my
options and decided to get everything made in Canada.

When did your interest in fashion start?

I was interested in fashion when I was 12 – I used to design dress’:) I never thought I would end up
actually designing clothes! At the time, it was more of an artistic outlet. I went on to study illustration
and by trade, I am currently a digital illustrator, still doing freelance on the side.

Why children’s clothes?

Well, I’ve got kids and when you have kids, the world revolves around them. I’ve never really thought
about “why kids” it was just a given.

Where do you get your inspiration from?

Everywhere! Real life, nature, art, abstracts, urban, childhood memories, the mixed-tape generation,
geometry, patterns – should I go on?

Tell us about bamboo fabric.

I love love love this grass. So soft like silk when made into fabric, feeds Pandas and can be as solid as
steel when used for building materials. As a fabric, it’s amazing AND with benefits too! It’s naturally
organic, It grows like weeds – just try & kill it! My bamboo is actually certified organic.

It replaces full forrest canopies in about 3 years! It’s antibacterial, it’s hypoallergenic. It’s also naturally
moisture wicking. Great for cloth diaper inserts. It also gets softer as you wash it!
A little advice on bamboo fabric – you should avoid buying 100% bamboo for a couple reasons; Bamboo
is an interesting material – you could wash it once and it will stretch lengthwise and shrink widthwise.
You could wash it again and it could stretch widthwise and shrink lengthwise. You can hang it on a
hanger for a week and the arms could grown to the floor – very weird. Also, it is so silky, it could get
holes and rip at the seams. It’s weak on it’s own – it needs to be mixed with something, anything else
just to keep it’s “flexibility” in check. My fabric is 70% Bamboo, 30% Organic cotton.

What makes it better than other fabric?

Definitely for all that was mentioned above. What other fabric do you know can offer all of those
properties?

Any advice for people trying to start their own business?

I would say do your homework – research your industry, educate yourself.
Find more then 1 resource
Talk to lots of people who do the same as you – follow them on twitter, see what they’re saying.
Remember, these things take time, so don’t be discouraged if you don’t make a billion dollars in
a year.:)
Last but not least, be open to change and learning, this never stops.

What’s next for you?
More designs!.. Oh, and I’ve having baby #3 early May!:)
