Last night saw Johnnie Walker Blue Label, the leading luxury Blended Scotch Whisky, present Symphony In Blue – the world’s first theatrical, experiential, musical and artistic journey for guests to enjoy. This truly immersive experience was crafted by a star-studded team including Hamish Hamilton and Russell Thomas from Done+Dusted as well as culinary geniuses, Sam Bompas and Harry Parr from Bompas & Parr.
Symphony In Blue celebrated the heritage and craftsmanship behind Johnnie Walker Blue Label, as well as the journey that Johnnie Walker started nearly 200 years ago. This educational performance was staged at the magnificent Merchant Taylors’ Hall, home to over 1,000 years of history and located in the heart of London’s square mile.
Hosted by Johnnie Walker Master Blender Jim Beveridge, this one-of-a-kind event saw a special appearance by Jude Law, in addition to a host of VIPs and London influencers including Tamsin Egerton, Luke Treadaway, Donna Air, Morwenna Lytton Cobbold, Natalie Coyle and Alistair Guy.

Guests were welcomed on a 7-room odyssey of the senses inspired by the physical, architectural, social and gastronomic dimensions of Whisky. Among the experiences, guests entered the world’s first Whisky Weather system, a luxurious breathable cloud of JOHNNIE WALKER BLUE LABEL and after passing through the Ice Palace where an illuminated block of 10,000 year old ice awaited they witnessed the hand-charring of barrels with the use of Whisky flamethrowers.

Culinary geniuses Bompas & Parr created an exquisite banquet of mouth-watering dishes, each one uniquely crafted to celebrate and highlight the complex flavours found within Johnnie Walker Blue Label. Upon finishing the gourmet masterpiece served to guests seated at elaborately dressed long banquet tables, the duo revealed the hotly anticipated multi-sensory project they have been working on for over a year – the world’s first working Flavour Conductor; a one-of-a-kind musical instrument that brings an inimitable theatrical dimension to whisky tasting. The magnificent church organ built according to centuries of tradition combines a contemporary sound and light spectacular with the rich heritage of whisky blending, whilst each note of the instrument emphasizes the individual flavors that can be discovered in the Blue Label blend.

Following the feast, a unique, performance took place with dancers, musicians and actors, each embodying a chapter of the Johnnie Walker story and celebrating the flavor, history and heritage. The final scene took to the walls as breath-taking projections transported the guests into the center of the glass of a glass of whisky.

Jude Law, star or Johnnie Walker Blue Label’s short film ‘A Gentleman’s Wager’ closed the occasion by thanking guests and raising a glass to all with encouragement to ‘keep on walking’.

The exquisite menu consisted of Stuffed Quails’ Eggs with Sumac, Chipotle and 24 Carat Gold, Foie Gras, Toasted Brioche, Johnnie Walker Blue Label Jelly, Poached Scottish Salmon and Lobster Roulade, sour cream and caviar sauce, Artichoke and Wild Mushroom Gratin, Stichelton, truffles and cream, Johnnie Walker Glazed, Slow Cooked Jacob’s Ladder, served on barley risotto, with a red wine reduction, Johnnie Walker Gold Label Reserve Marbled Jelly, spiced citrus jelly, candied orange peel, edible flowers and a treacle Tart served with Johnnie Waller Gold Label Reserve cream Chantilly.

Symphony in Blue, presented by Johnnie Walker Blue Label, is the world’s first theatrical, experiential, musical and artistic journey that sets out to celebrate the art and history of whisky. This immersive experience has been crafted by a star-studded team including Hamish Hamilton and Russell Thomas from Done+Dusted as well as culinary geniuses, Sam Bompas and Harry Parr from Bompas&Parr. The Symphony In Blue performance – inspired by the physical, social and gastronomic dimensions of Whisky – features extraordinary JOHNNIE WALKER BLUE LABEL-inspired installations, a theatrical meal and climatic spectacular finale. Confronted by a play of light, art, sound, extreme temperatures, gastronomy and performance, guests’ imagination and perception of flavour will be challenged and provoked through a host of experiences including; entering the world’s first Whisky Weather system, a luxurious breathable cloud of JOHNNIE WALKER BLUE LABEL and a rare opportunity to meet with Master Blender Jim Beveridge and craft a personalised Signature Blend drawn from the largest reserves of whisky in the world.

James Thompson, Global Managing Director of Diageo Reserve says: “JOHNNIE WALKER has continued to be the world’s best-selling Scotch Whisky and one of the most loved spirits brands in the world. At the heart of our brand is a deep commitment to innovation and a pioneering spirit, made tangible through our signature ‘Big, Bold Flavours’ drawn from the four corners of Scotland. With SYMPHONY IN BLUE, we elevate the understanding of JOHNNIE WALKER BLUE LABEL, our search for flavour and how we perfected the art of blending.”

JOHNNIE WALKER® BLUE LABEL™ is one of the pinnacle offerings from JOHNNIE WALKER.

Only sublime, rare whiskies at the pinnacle of perfection are used in the blending of JOHNNIE WALKER BLUE LABEL, with only 1 in 10,000 casks containing whisky of sufficient character to deliver its remarkably smooth signature taste. Each is hand selected by the JOHNNIE WALKER Master Blender himself, part of an unbroken lineage of Master Blenders stretching back over 190 years – it is an ultimate expression of whisky making today and an remarkable achievement for the modern era.

Presented in individually numbered bottles, it is reminiscent of the 19th century style of whiskies. The Master Blender uses his decades of experience to select some of the rarest casks from the JOHNNIE WALKER reserves for their quality, character and flavour to create the powerful, complex, smooth character of BLUE LABEL.

BLUE LABEL has a mellow, rounded nose, with a dry smokiness (a JOHNNIE WALKER signature flavour) mixing with raisin sweetness. It is best savoured with the palate cleansed and cooled by iced water. One sip reveals a velvety mouth-feel, then an explosion of flavour. At once you’ll discover hazelnuts, honey, rose petals, sherry and oranges. Subsequent sips reward you with more hidden secrets like kumquats, wispy aromatic smoke, sandalwood, tobacco, and dark chocolate.

The Amazing Spiderman Premiere

Last Night the beautiful Donna Air walk the red carpet at The Amazing Spiderman Premiere in Leicester Square, donned in the W Hamond, presented by CW Sellors & Henshall dress and jewel collaboration. At Frost magazine we loved her dress.

Scott Henshall & W Hamond, presented by CW Sellors wow the crowds at

‘The Amazing Spiderman’ London premiere

British brands W Hamond, presented by CW Sellors & Henshall last night unveiled Donna Air sheathed in a British made Whitby Jet & Diamond Spider Web dress at ‘The Amazing Spiderman’ premiere at London’s Leicester Square. The intricate Spider and cobweb design by Scott Henshall and created by W Hamond is crafted from Whitby Jet combined with diamonds spinning its magical web around a daring little black dress. Presenter of Fashion TV, Hofit Golan, was also seen in W Hamond Whitby Jet & Diamond jewellery.

CW Sellors are no strangers to the silver screen and were involved with the movie possession where Gwyneth Paltrow can be seen wearing their Whitby Jet jewellery.

Scott Henshall “King of the Red Carpet” originally stole the headlines at the first Spiderman world premiere in 2002 when Jodie Kidd strutted down the red carpet in a web of lace. Henshall then eclipsed that dress at the ‘Spider Man 2’ world premiere in 2004 when Samantha Mumba wore a £5million diamond encrusted dress, which to this day is still the ‘world’s most expensive dress’.

MAKE THIS THE LAST MOTHER’S DAY THAT YOU ARE SINGLE

Five tips for single parents looking to escape the parent trap

As a single parent you’re certainly not alone – in the UK there are more than 1.7million single parents. The majority would love to find someone new to support them and their children, but with childcare issues eating into time and energy resources, it can at times feel like it’s at the bottom of a never-ending to do list.

Single mum, TV actress and eHarmony.co.uk’s guest blogger, Donna Air voices the challenges she faces over finding a new partner when her child is naturally her number one priority:

“It’s simply too stressful a job when teamed with kids’ bath, dinner, homework, and bedtime stories into the hour allocation that most busy mums have for the multiple of tasks”.

But it needn’t be the hurdle it can at first seem. In Donna’s accounts of dating, she makes a point of dating when her child is at her ex partner’s house, or when she has some spare time to herself. For those with childcare and time constraints, dating online is the perfect way to ‘get back out there’ again and find someone new, and the best bit is that the initial, online stages of ‘dating’ can all be done when children are tucked up in bed. Make sure you research the top 10 dating sites to find the one that is right for you.

“Looking for someone who will love and respect you and your children can feel challenging but in reality it’s just about finding the person for you”, says Dr Gian Gonzaga, Senior Relationship Scientist at eHarmony.co.uk, the relationship success site. Dr Gonzaga continues, “in a recent poll of eHarmony.co.uk members, 85% said they were sensitive to a single parent’s position, so there’s no reason for not taking that first step.’ Here are five top tips from Fr. Gonzaga that every single and dating parent should follow:

1. Be honest from the beginning

It isn’t always easy to bring up the fact that you have children when considering going out with someone new. But your date deserves to know what to expect — perhaps you’ll only be available every other weekend or you can never be out past midnight due to your babysitter. Be upfront and you’ll avoid any surprises later on.

2. Only date someone who is sensitive to your situation

A potential partner who respects the fact that you’re a parent should understand and be sensitive to the responsibilities that you have to your children. Do they realize that even on a date you need to be accessible to your children? Does he or she understand that only you will know the right time to introduce them to your children? If the answer is no to any of these questions, they are probably not the right partner for you in the long-term.

3. Go slow

Unless you and your date are both certain you want to take the relationship in a more serious direction, don’t rush to introduce him or her to your kids. Having a new adult in their lives is a big deal. When you feel the time is right, keep the meeting low-key and brief, and do all you can to remove pressure from everyone. Your kids need as much time as you did to get to know someone new.

4. Be realistic

After introductions, be careful not to expect too much from your new relationship too soon. Someone who has never had kids will need plenty of time to develop their own relationship with your children. Equally if your partner has children or their own, it will take time for both sets of children to get used to being a part of a single family.

5. Practice being more than a parent

Yes, you are responsible for your children, and you must take that seriously. But being a parent is not solely all you are. You’re a single person looking for someone to share your life with. Get a babysitter, relax, and enjoy dating!

Dr Gonzaga concludes: “Don’t let being a parent stop you trying to find happiness. Just learn from your past relationship, have clear boundaries and be confident and you will find a true partner.”

The blog can be found at: http://moourl.com/donnadating

Donna’s articles will feature amusing first-person dating anecdotes covering topics such as dating in the fast-moving world of social media, the challenges of dating outside your age group, and finding love as a single parent. Donna herself is a single mother to a seven year old daughter, and has spent the last four and a half years on the London dating scene following the breakdown of her long-term relationship.

Donna Air said:
“The search for the perfect partner is the one thing that unites all of us, whatever our circumstances, and starting that journey again after a long relationship can be scary. I was really excited to be asked by eHarmony to share some of my stories, and hopefully help other single people in the process. It can feel like a ‘dating jungle’ out there at times but sharing our experiences with each other will help us all on that mission to find the perfect person!”

The eight weekly blogs will run from Thursday February 24th until April 25th and will sit on eHarmony Advice, which contains relationship advice articles, forums and opinion polls for eHarmony members and anyone seeking relationship advice. Advice articles and videos by Dr Gian Gonzaga, excerpts from his recent book, and videos, photos and personal stories from eHarmony-matched couples who found love second time around will also feature. The blog will be supported by a social media campaign to amplify Donna’s articles through Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and other online channels.

Ottokar Rosenberger, UK Country Manager for eHarmony.co.uk said:
“This is the first time in the UK that we’ve worked on a series of guest-authored blogs and we’re extremely excited to host Donna’s unique content on our site. Donna has a really warm and engaging personality and we’re sure her stories will strike a chord with anyone who’s navigating the sometimes nerve-wracking world of dating. We hope readers of the blogs will also post their own thoughts and experiences.”

“We plan to run other blogs over the rest of the year on a range of love-related subjects, which we hope will appeal to our existing members, and to anyone seeking helpful and interesting relationship advice.”
